The Rooster had some terrific moments when we laid on some great tries but we dished up far too much shit for me to be happy.
I really had concerns that a name change from the Roosters to the Crabs was in order with so much bullshit running sideways,
Maybe Robbo told them to go out and throw structure to the wind but among some good defence were moments of poor defensive positioning and structure especially around kicks

Anyway a win is a win and I imagine we will be alot better next week
My only problem was over-confident plays on early tackles in attack, mostly in the first half that allowed the Knights a sniff, and particularly early kicks and mostly from Friend. And I don't remember them forcing one goal-line dropout the whole game. A bit more patience and who knows what the score could've been. But apart from that and 'ol Leg-Up Klein, they always looked too classy for the Knights and would've won whether Ponga was there or not.

Someone called the Knights Pretenders yesterday, I'm now prepared to say they aren't even Kajagoogoo!

    • Btw how bad was Pearce? Deadset awful.

He's lucky to be in 1st grade. A far cry from his badge kisssing days 18 months ago.

      • I was waiting for the badge kisser to score. Oh well.

Interested to see what we do or repeat v Sharks, had to try on some new stuff last night against OBrien who knows what we like to do

        • It's hard for Jake Friend to please a lot of people (for some reason), but I thought he was great last night and ignited a lot of our attack with his decisions around the ruck. I'll be very happy if he continues this run of form.

          • Pearce has missed more tackles than anyone in the NRL this season. 68!

Says a lot about a guy who is actually a very good defensive player. Shows that he’s not committed and has attitude issues.

            • I think Pearce misses us, since leaving he has been running on the gasoline of "I got to prove easts wrong", it was a strong motivator for awhile there, he was looking super motivated and the pinnacle for this statement was the badge kissing moment... but since then we have won 2 premierships and the gasoline he was running on is now gone and that was proven last night as he looked pretty disinterested and didnt look like a man trying to prove a point like he has in previous encounters... he isnt a knight at heart he is a Rooster and i know many here like shitting on the guy but i think he was genuinely hurt when he left us and everything he said after it and the badge kissing was just a way to try and hurt easts back... but like i said... those flames have now been put out and he is just a guy coming towards the backend of his career at a club he didnt want to finish his career at.

I’m sure his bank account will help him through this difficult period. But yes money can’t buy happiness.

agreed, he cops the crap, so he deserves the praise. his scoootd from dummy half were well timed , and got us a roll on. as always he is a defensive beast.

I'll agree that he's a good defensive half but his always had a bad missed tackle in him.
I think we got the best out of him and like a lot of players there isn't much left in the tank once they leave.
Our system is so good here at the roosters that it exposes the limitations of some players ability once they leave much like you see with Storm players.
RTS and latrell are phenomenal athletes and will be very good players anywhere but the list of players who haven't reached the same heights is long.

                        • We had lots of good performances in this game.
Best for mine were Jake, Toups & Kez.

I thought he was outstanding on Saturday night.
Im the same I can’t work out why people pick up on a mistake he makes rather than the good stuff he does.

Yeah a little odd given he's a ~184cm half. I get it when people run over the top of guys like JT and Maloney but Pearce is big enough to handle himself.
