I think medically retired, cannot play anymore, salary capped relieved Greg Inglis had also signed to play in England as well.
Once maybe ...but twice in two years !!

Now if it does happen I hope the NRL adds back both their monies into the salary cap, but somehow I dont think that will happen because the media will drown that call out with the trumpeting of how wonderful it is to have them both back, and all the 'comeback miracle' stories yaddda yadda yadda !

Medically retires should mean just that ...medically retired !
If a player can subsequently come back after being medically retired, then all well and good and I have no problem with them playing top level footy again. ...... BUT if they do come back and play again, then that cap relief that was granted for being medically retired, must surely be reinstated back into the cap !

Souffs were allowed to remove Burgarse of their cap for over a year allowing them to chase Latrell and other players and if they allow him back even if it's playing for another team, it looks dodgy. What if a club can remove a player that has a long term injury? In that case players like Foran who is always injured could have been removed from the dogs cap and allow them to sign another until Foran was back. I don't think it's a bad idea to allow a club to take a player out of their cap while that player is injured for a long time, that is a season or more BUT that cannot be applied until the rule takes affect and players injured after the rule came to be allowed to apply...In this case Burgearse should not be allowed back into any NRL team unless Souffs cops some kind of hefty handicap.

This is so obviously cheating the cap- two huge names they signed to big backended contracts that in the end never counted to the cap - now they both will play again. It’s cheating and in ways I’m sure every club has its ways to “manage” the cap.

this is blatant however and there for all to see - so what really really astonishes me is that not one journalist or news service is saying anything about this side of it? Completely baffling - all they are saying is how wonderful it is that we will get the chance to see sam and GI again. And whilst that may be true for the sport the blatant cheating of the regulations that govern the game is a serious blight on the integrity of the competition.
