How the f@ck do we fit all our players into 17 when finals come and all are fit.
Do you think Robbo told him after the game that he wasn’t playing finals footy?

    • we missed a couple of crucial one on one tackles. freddy lussick was great but getting jake back puts more cement in our wall.

liu and angus great. everyone else there or thereabouts.

it was great that sbw got a full 40 under his belt. not sure he'll play a full half come finals but he's not blowing like he was v canberra. maybe he can come on earlier in the first half and play good mins. his work was good if not spectacular but he's capable of match winning plays.

Some poor defense but overall very good against a top 8 team.
I agree with your summary RC. Collins was massive for our go-forward. JWH also had his best game this season.

I was a bit disappointed in Flanno - hope it was just a small glitch in his continued development.

But well done team for another top 4 finish and to the 303 n.o. to Maubs!

          • another thing to come out of last night is that the sharks will be beaten by even more than they were going to be beaten in the first week of the finals. losing johnson doesn't help them.. that means that the 4th place team will pretty much have a bye first week and then probably play parra who look spent. probable outcome (if wikipedia is right in its explanation of the finals system) is raiders make it easily thru to the prelim.

            • Like every year we will need to overcome the referees bias against us. Sutton, Klein, and Cummins hate us. They love the Storm and Panthers so we’ll have our work cut out. The six agains will come thick and fast against us and we’ll get none. Robbo will have us primed. He had Flanno running a lot of the show last night so it gives us more options with the ball. Keary is playing what he sees in front of him. Teddy will be close to ruck and wider as he sees fit. SBW will offload. We know how this will play out. Let’s go.

I realise you meant 5th placed team, right? So yes, raiders will have a "bye" in first week of finals (as long as Parra don't lose to Tigers next week). Then they play loser of panthers/eels - but stranger things have happened than an upset in this game - could be sudden death week 2 raiders v panthers??

                  yeah, meant fifth placed team.

                  • I know its not roosters related, and I do hate them with a passion but I thought bellamy reaction to Smith's try last night was great. I'm sure it upset some , but shows why they are a successful organisation.

Dont agree with this. The refs did not stop us in 13, 18 or 19. They wont in 2020 either.

                      • Really pleased about securing the top 4 finish. Congrats to Aubo on the 303. Glad he bagged a double. Hats off to the club for the full time preso.

Barring Melb who had the big 3 do it, I think the Roosters are the only club to have 3 players play over 300 games for one team. (Even then Cronk came to us after he passed the 300). So we are the only club to have three 300 one clubmen! Yet another massive achievement for the Mighty Sydney Roosters!

                        • Just saw the John Morris' presser. Yeah I agree with John the Dugan injury, leading to Keary's 2nd is what sealed the game for the Roosters. If that didn't happen Cronulla would have won the game.... typical loser talk

John Morris needs to take a tip from Robbo on how best to improve your team. Rather than blame the ref/injuries for the loss how about 1. admitting that your team have numerous areas to improve in. Then 2. hold your team accountable for improving in these areas.

                          • Watching live at the ground and then the recording this morning.... my thoughts are that we were always in control, in both attack and defense. Just like last week against the Knaughts we let in a couple of soft tries which were flattering for the opposition on the scoreboard.

Need to stop gifting those soft points before the finals. Can't afford to gift the Storm/Panthers/Raiders sniffs liike that.

Obviously the 6 again calls are a problem (cant believe how inconsistent those calls are). But the bigger issue for me were the 26 miss tackles. I think (hope) that's what Robbo was refering to in his presser when he said "there are a couple of little things that we need to love to do right that we didn't do tonight"

getting jake, sst, teddy, and cords will tighten us up by 10 points per game. jake cops a lot, but defensively he is an absolute beast.

                              • Morris is a poor excuse for a coach. Weeks ago the media commented that the team he was facing had a few injuries. He was quick to cut them off and comment about his teams injuries. Making excuses before a ball was even kicked.

I wouldn’t want someone with this attitude coaching Under 9s. He probably thinks he has done a decent job by getting his team to the semis. Probably thinks he is a decent coach. Well guess what Little Johnny, it’s a piss weak comp and your useless team are going out in straight sets. It’s time to apply for job seeker!
