He will be in doubt though since he failed the HIA and will need to pass the protocols going forward - will be picked though i assume

Our two captain's have had a lot of worrying head knocks this year. Cords looked a bit tentative to me last night which is understandable but I've never seen that from him before.
We need them both to be at there fearless best in the finals.

If Jake is named to play next week, I wonder who Robbo names on the bench as backup, Lussick or Lam? I guess Lam can also cover the halves.

Robbo likes Hutcho so if friend doesn't play I reckon Lussick with Hutcho could be the option.

Based on how they’ve performed in attack and defense this year in their cameo roles I’d say Hutcho first, theN Freddy second and Lam third.

i'm hoping jake plays. if he passes the protocols and feels alright he should.

last time he didn't play (v canberra) we didn't have a back up dummy half. freddy played the full 80.

Possibly silly question, but here goes: does failing your Head Injury Assessment necessarily mean you were concussed? The Roosters medical staff were concerned about a possible facial fracture and so kept him off the field, but do we know he was suffering concussion as well?

i think it means that the doc has diagnosed some of the symptoms of concussion.

reports in the smh and nrlphysion say he did fail the hia. probably they got it right but sometimes there are mistakes in communication.

Fair enough. Maybe they should call it a concussion assessment.

Not a silly question, because passing a HIA doesn’t mean you are not concussed either.

i can’t believe the NRL don’t have independent people assessing these knocks.
