Interesting stat given to me today...Easts have won 12 from 13 in the match following a 50pt + loss, since 1908!

That’s one amazing stat.

I think the one we didn’t win was a 12-12 draw against the Bulldogs after Canberra beat us 66-4 thirty odd years ago.

Haven't had time to see how correct that stat is but in 1966 Manly beat Easts 53-0 then Easts lost the week after to Souths 2-32.

Edit last round of 1952 Roosters lost 8-59 to Balmain ( and Easts didnt make the finals in 1952)and then in first round of 1953 Easts lost to Parra 10-23 so does this count as it was the following season ?

Souffs deserve to be favourites but Newcastle can match their forwards and if Pearce/Ponga get their act together they can win that game.
