Yeah whatever I’m not condoning drugs one way or the other so save your eye rolls for later RT.

but I didn’t hear any stories of Joey body slamming his 115kg body on his 8 month pregnant wife and you can blame the drugs or not it’s irrelevant when he acts in that manner and an unfair comparison to what Joey was rumoured to be doing - drugs one thing - DV another even if drug induced.

Also it sound like I’m assuming all in the article is true and I’m not - it might be it might not - time and due process will tell.

I just think the comparison of these rumours next to the ones re Joey are way out of line. But Brian was probably more comparing the actions of the two clubs in hiding it more than the specific alleged actions of the two players.

To others, this is a problem for Souths but is not one caused by them. If they have been careful re the media (and the article shows no link with to the Club in anything that transpired) that would be no different to any other club's approach. As another poster commented, Joey was a handful for years and is now a News Corp "Immortal". Double standards when the "reputation" of an "establishment", climate change denier is involved?
So you think their chief medical office falsifying prescribed drugs under different names and organising a drug test in a place where there is no CCTV footage is not a problem in itself? You don't believe that anyone within the hierarchy of management within the club bar the chief medical officer new about any of this?

      Ummmm OOOOKKKKAAAAAYYYYY.

      P.S Allegedly of course.

Rooster1908; . "....It is there responsibility to stop problems before they occur . Its called duty of care . What if he seriously hurt his wife and kids and they could have prevented it. "

It's a family matter friend. Nowt to do with the club. If me auntie...etc.

This hatchet job presents affidavit claims as fact.

To others who have taken ism to task, women should be believed, initially, so should men. My experience is that some females (and some males but fewer) can over egg things, especially when children and custody is an issue, and seem more inclined to feel that their emotional reactions are the be all and end all.

Yes, due process will tell but only after the reputational damage has been done unforch.

An alternative plausible scenario is that drunk and distraught he stumbled into the wife in a futile attempt to make his nightmare go away, fondling, clumsily, the pregnant stomach in some sort of awkward appeal to what was at stake between them. You need to have been through such situations to get a reasonable perspective.

As a side point, he probably took that emotional flux into the Final and it might have carried over to the rest of the team. It was a dramatic form reversal after all.

Ok I'll try taking ketamine, MDMA, rat poison, a few buckets of booze and some intravenous valium prescribed under someone else's name.

I'm pretty sure I'll need at least that to start seeing things your way with a reasonable perspective.

Seriously though, the whole report reminds me of the old saying, "Is this true or did you read it in The Australian". What it seems to be, for the most part, is not so much an "investigative report" but a rehash of Court documents relating to the AVO and, no doubt, to Family Court proceedings. It's full of Hear/Say and subjective accounts and, in the manner of these things, very little will carry any evidentiary weight at a future hearing.

For the skeptics among us, Mitch Hooke is the cynical, ruthless ex head of the rent seeking Minerals Council of Australia (Gina's outfit) and the dishonest job that he did on the Super profits mining tax shows that his style is boots'n'all, destroy the enemy at all costs. Importantly, someone of his "stature" and ego won't be risking a negative result on the AVO claim - Mitch a liar? Come..come.. Best to head that off by appealing to the Court of Public Opinion via mates at News Corp.

Apart from that, the dick pic incident would have been an unwelcome reflection on HIS family and that arrogant ego as well and my guess is that he wants ol' Sam gone completely - no chance of shared custody or, maybe, any contact at all.

Anyone who has been through a family break up, especially when a trouble making third party is heavily involved, knows that things can get highly emotional and often booze and alcohol gets into the mix. The Australian had no business publishing this salacious, one sided account of a family in turmoil, there's no public interest issue. It is a very sad personal matter and, perhaps, the real villainy will never come to light.
Go tell your Souths buddies about it dude

Well you've certainly made up your mind and all on the basis of assertions (not facts) published in the Australian of all places.
I'll bet that he hopes that you're not on his jury Mr. Purity personified.

Not really relevant but what do you think goes on during Mad Mondays?

Its not a family matter if the goose is on drugs and playing/representing the vermin . Should have been pulled into line or given the ass before it got to this . Sorry as a husband and father to 3 daughters believe the female first and facts come later . I would rather come out with egg on my face than a dead family . Protect the kids at all cost

The timing of this article on the eve of the finals is questionable but if true that doctor writing out prescriptions in false names would be in serious trouble.
I don't think the timing is bad. Timing wouldn't be a factor if it never happened in the first place. I don't blame the doctor. I blame the user.
