  • What can we realistically expect this year?

We have a very young squad with some exciting talent coming through especially in the forwards. But with Anasta at 6 and an ageing Mini at 1 I will be happy with an 8th place finish even though it looks like we will probably miss the 8. Am looking forward to seeing Moga play and to see our youngsters develop.

    Heres to a good 2012

I was thinking this the other day...
To me it depends on what the opposition dish out.

While I think top 4 is a long shot, top 8 is a big maybe. I just don't want another embarrassing season where we get whipped by everybody and I'm thinking "can we still theoretically make the 8?" by mid-season.

No long term injuries, Cherro to make it through the year uninjured, Mini and Braith to call time at the end of the year, Moga to be the new Meninga, this team not to disgrace the proud Roosters club.

      Stuff like that.

Oh, and the club to come to their senses and tell SBW to piss off.

7th by the end of the regular season. Depends on momentum from there.

If Kennedy stays on the field for the majority of the season; One of Peni Tagive, Adam Henry or even RTS have good enough seasons to push BJ into the back row; and Moga is a success playing left centre, then we're half a chance to make the 8.

As Yak says, squeeze into the 8 somehow with some momentum. We all know that teams hitting the finals with some form are dangerous and can go futher than expected. At the very worst my hope is that it doesn't hurt to watch this team as badly as it did in 2011. I think we have pretty good reasons to hope that will be the case.

I think we will finish somewhere between 10-12th like last year, even though I expect improvement from most players. Just with Anasta and Mini a year older and a year slower (hard to believe that could be possible I know) in crucial positions and a lack of experience in the pack, I think we will fall away late in the year.

                    Top 8 Stetch target

i know it is setting the bar low, but realistically, we are a young side (youngest Avg age in the NRL) which has ??? above it after carney, myles and Ryles Leaving.

We have some great talent, some tough nut and Aggro forwards, some classy backs and a shit load of youngsters who want to make their mark on the game.

They just need a basic goal this season, Win more games than you lose, that should be simple enough

Mathematically we are still a chance of making the 8.....looking at the table.

Our team will finish with more points than at least 8 other sides.

Quite a few of the strong teams have been weakened leading into 2012 imo - Manly, St George, Broncos, while a few others have new coaches - Dogs, Pemriff, Souffs, Warriors which to me says this years comp will be very unpredictable. Melbourne are the one constant you can reply on to be ultra competative. But as I see it this years title is wide open and with an unpredictable side (as we have) in an unpredictable comp, anything can happen.

We'll finish 6th and be on the way up.

                          Chook.

I'm pretty sure if you win more games than you lose you're fairly sure to make the top 8 aren't you?? Actually just did the sums & 30 points usually would get you well in the 8!
