My point wasn't about Anasta bashing. It was more about the combination of Anasta & Pearce in the halves. Last time they played the majority of a season together we got the spoon, thats a fact. In every other way we're a better team than 09 so we won't get the spoon but the stinky combination of Pearce and Anasta will make sure we don't make the finals either.

I'm not bashing either one of em, individually they're both competent enough but together, they stink. Neither has any real spark in attack so together there's nothing doing. The only time we did any good with those two was in the tries off kicks era but soon as other teams woke up to that it was spoon time.

I like Smith as a coach and I hope he will able to polish the turd, but I don't think he's that good.

They made 4 line breaks between them last year and hardly missed a game. They each have no running game which is sad because one of the so called strengths of Anasta once was that he was supposedly a strong ball runner. I know Pearce was in the top bracket of try assists and line break assists columns but when you add line breaks to his line break assist stat he falls behind several half backs. This becomes even worse when you know that we have Mini at the back who also struggles to make a break and this is the reason I think we will really struggle next season.

Remember, he was the one who made the inexcuseable decision to take the captaincy off Fitzy and give it to Braith, for reasons only he would know. That's if he even had a reason, more likely just another flight of Fittler fancy.

As much as taking the captaincy fro Fitzy was the wrong decision, I can see why he did it. Fitzy was in his last season, and we had a star 5/8 playing with no direction. If you want the best out of you marquee player, let him be captain, and lead by example. What it showed was Braith could lead off the field, but was not a leader on the field.

I don't think we can expect much this season. Our biggest handicap is Mini and Anasta playing in key positions. Depending on injuries I could still us sneaking into the 8, it really isn't that hard to it.
