  • It’s tough to think we could go out bang bang

    But most likely will occur.
if we meet Penrith again we beat them no problems

i think we have Melbourne covered but I simply don’t like our chances v the raiders.
physically tough. Opportunistic in attack. Enough hate to fight for ISIS............that helps their D.

they have been waiting for this all year and we aren’t at our best.

Boyd was incredible last week, Isaac is disappointing for mine.
bring back the legend Friendy and we might go better I hope
    barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

I thought Isaac was close to our best.

As for the Raiders, the clash a month ago in Canberra was a mini final. We were missing Friend & Cords and beat them easily.

They've beaten about 10 trash teams during the past 3 months, in between getting soundly beaten by Penrith and us.

We have their measure in spades. We just have to bring our A-game.

No doubt winning the comp from here is a mountain to climb. I have no expectations. But just imagine if we pull it off?

It'd be our sweetest Premiership during the Robbo era.

Interesting trewhella that you think Raiders are the toughest opponents out of the 3 we need to beat to win the comp, I would've thought going up to Suncorp to play a rested Storm would be the toughest challenge, if we get past the Raiders.

I thought Crichton, Liu, Collins and Boyd were our best last week.

We go into the match as favourites but a lot of people have already written us off for Friday's game, despite just 1 point in our game, as opposed to Raiders winning thanks to a few dubious calls. I think what we don't know is if some of the guys are busted and battered and are no where near 100% fit or carrying some niggling injury, that to me would be the most telling. I don't know if Keary has completely recovered but he didn't seem to run the ball compared to usual.

I'm staying positive and although it will be a challenge as the Raiders will be pumped up and ready to play us, we have the team and talent to beat them. We have the points in us, we just need to rediscover our defence. We have the extra day prep and home ground advantage, Friend coming back will make a difference.

If we beat Canberra we play the Storm in Sydney, not Brisbane.

We play the Storm in Brisbane, they won their game in Week 1 and therefore have a home Prelim.

i agree that the game v raiders is not a gimme. i also think that if we win this week we're as good a chance to win it as panthers and storm. parra and canberra are probably no chance and souths are next to no chance.

but it's all about this week - we can worry about the rest of the season when we have to

On their day any of the 6 teams left can beat the other team so anyone who thinks Canberra are a gimme have got no idea. Jack Wighton is absolutely hanging for this game. We have the Storms measure, now that is funny & we can get beat Penrith if we make the GF is also comical. Don’t worry about playing Melbourne in Brisbane & don’t worry about beating Penrith in the GF let’s just worry about trying to beat a Raiders team that have 2 halves in really good form & a team that will be so up for this Friday nights game.
              Go the Roosters.

Not excited about Flanagan and Sitili marking up on Wighton. If Sitili is in the side he has to be in the middle and Angus has to stay wide.

Pretty much my sentiments..said the other day to a mate my gut feeling is if canberra beat us they should go on to win the comp.
Our blokes a look a bit gassed but still have the metal to pull off the win ...too much hooha over penrith winning ...by a lousy point .we easily couldve won it ..they were supposed to be so good and us so bad yet Roosters dominated much more game time than they did.
Friend could be the key ..hopefully keeps his forward pass tally down.
Wighton has a head Jarrod just wants to smash.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

I' think we have the raiders and the Storms measure. With Jake SBW coming back in , a little luck and no more injuries the chooks will go all the way and beat Penrith in the GF.

We wernt that bad against the riff and i feel the chooks have played themselves back into form in the last 40 minutes of last week ....
I'd like to see Angus start on the right edge and sitili coming off the bench . It stiffens that edge for the early exchanges and a fresh Sitili can cause havoc with his tackle busting when teams are tiring .

I’m as confident of every game we play as much as I worry about every game we play, it’s such a funny season, and the 60 scored against us was so out of character I’m just hoping we beat the raiders and worry about the storm the following week.
If Liverpool can be beaten 7-2 by Aston villa then anything is possible.

One week at a time. I hope that I get to worry about Melbourne next week.

Whatever happens we have done well this year considering all the injuries the club has had to endure, Rads was a massive loss, Verrills not far behind...
