Hmm I can't remember the traffic on that night but don't remember it being too bad - if you can get onto at least the second level it isnt too bad (especially if you get a park near the ramp) - I guess depends on what time you can get to the car park but I usually get there 2-1.5 hours before hand to eat then head in with plenty of time

Never had a good experience in the EQ car park at least 30mins to get out even this year. But to be fair never got a good park lower level near the exit. I find it flows heaps better in the grass car park - that’s just my experience anyway.

Another option is to park somewhere near a tram stop like at randwick or Surry hills in street parking and jump on the tram to the scg.

July 2022 if on schedule although i did hear it could be pushed back to September 2022- Don't know if plans to host the 2022 GF at the new SFS are still on since the ANZ refurb has been abandoned. New SFS to be 40,000 to 45,000 seat capacity - ANZ currently 83,500

Still plenty of seats left in Categories 1-3 and Alcohol free sections. I got my tickets in the members time slot sale. Hopefully we can fill up the SCG with as much red, white and blue support as we can!

A question about parking - I have always taken public transport to the SFS/SCG games, I plan to drive on Friday - any recommendations for parking? I plan to get there around 6:30pm. The Entertainment Quarter and Driver Ave grass car parks are closest but I read it can take up to an hour to exit after a match/event, I don't mind walking (20 minutes). Thanks

If you don’t mind a walk you will find spaces along Cook Road at this time. One side of the road is limited to an hour and the other side 2 hours but I always park there and I’m yet to get a ticket. The parking pigs don’t want to be walking around alone by Centennial Park at night.

To each his own , but I like the SCG with its history and the old members and ladies pavilions.
It gives the place a feel back to all those famous grand finals, test matches , as well as being the site for our recent finals victories - vs Storm/ Souths over the last couple of seasons, as well as some sunny Saturday / Sunday afternoons over the last couple of years , watching our team go round.
The Roosters players don't seem to mind it much either, making it a bit of a fortress , and our side is hard to beat there.
Its smack in the middle of Moore park, and for me, its easy and central to get to.
I compare it to ANZ stadium - no atmosphere, concrete jungle, and built out near some swampland , and its out in the sticks.
And if I park the car on the street, with all the 2 hour parking restrictions you come back to your car with a ticket on the window.
ANZ is a f*cking dump..

Agree mate, I’ve given it plenty of chances including two semis last year, Anzac Day, and then a couple matches during covid this year. I feel distant there and lose interest because I find myself watching the big screen more than the game.

if we keep winning there, then I’m happy for the team, but it’s not a great experience for the fan.

As a Roosters member, I was allocated seats in the Bill O'Rielly in previous games.
Now , having to pay for the tix, as a Roosters member, I got seated in Victor Trumper for this game vs Raiders
Does anyone know why its changed?

Even the screens there are crap...I end up watching it on my phone when the play is on the far side of the field. After travelling the US and attending different codes and venues, everything about our gameday experience is hopeless, we are lightyears behind them

Thanks Thirteen I'll take your advice.
I might check the numbers in the O'Reilly first - if all the Roosters supporters move from Trumper over to O'Rielly, it might get a bit crowded in there

I was at MetLife stadium to watch my pats v giants,
it was incredible.

different experience when even regular season games are sellouts to 70,000 plus fans.

Agree with the SCG sentimentality great old ground with many fond memories and history. But if it means nothing to you then yes it’s not great compared to other grounds on viewing alone.

IMO the upper Trumper seats are better than O’Rielly - elevated, closest point to the footy field, get the best view of the big screen, easier/quicker to get to faculties - and very cheap tix.

Changed this year from O’Reilly to bronze membership and don’t think I’ll switch back to ‘Chook Pen’ until the new stadium opens where middle seats would be preferable even if more $

As a bronze member I normally get Victor Trumper but got in early enough to get BOR. VT isn’t bad as it give s you a different dimension. Because you are looking down the ground you get to see them set the defensive lines, Teddy organising the defence and various plays they have which you don’t see watching them on TV side on.

Not advocating it all all the time but for a change it’s ok - even better when the tries are scored down your end which has been the case for the past 3 games at least.
