  • Pretty average night for our boys.. friendy always busy with his tackles - 54 last night.. 2 forward passes though, why does he constantly get it wrong? Bewilders me. Anyway, happy for him and Lindsay who might I add looked like he’s made for origin.

Maybe so but it’s still a neutral venue with ex QLDrs, NSW people and some locals wanting to see a footy game like when the Roosters take a game to ADL. But in the end it shouldn’t matter because they’re professionals but to me NSW looked like they knew they had the game before kickoff. They looked flat probably because of that whereas QLD looked like they had to make a point and it might have been due to Freddy’s and Bennett approach to the game. It’s all assumptions of course.

On another note, NSW do miss an enforcer like a Papalli in the team. Saifiti seems to nice IMO. Maybe Nathan Brown needs to be in there to pump things up... maybe!

Allen proved to be a better fullback than Latrell at Souffs. More speed, higher work rate and better positioned in attack but he might not get the gig because they won’t want upset the genius next year. Latrell is not a better fullback than Gutherson, Papenhauzen Turbo and even that little guy at Penrith Edwards.

I thought he ran strongly when he came on but the downside is now we have to pay him Qld rep money for a bench forward putting further strain on our salary cap.

Yeah, nah he’s better than them.

All the NSW Roosters were average I thought. Keary isn’t big enough for SOO, The whole left edge which was mainly Roosters players did not fire.
The NRL would be happy with the Qld win because most tipped a 3 nil whitewash to NSW.
Bennett to good for Fredy & I would say Qld will win the series.
Thank goodness for Easts and Australia that Keary was big enought to represent them.

I like Keary Jack but since he got bashed against the Raiders he has not been as good. Munster is first choice for Australia not Keary & like someone else posted SOO is traditionally a bashathon & big bodies are usually picked. Luke is as tough as they come but a 110kg tough guy will get over the 89kg tough guy.

                        • In the gf I saw that Tino Fa'asuamaleaui was from Orange.

I then found it strange when he was selected to play for QLD, so did a quick wiki search on him and found out his dad, Fereti, played for us in the 90’s.

                          There ya go
                          ..it’ll be interesting to see

Just check out last year's origin series if you need any convincing.
Fittler needs to make the SOS call to Maloney straight away.
Nathan Cleary offers nothing, and the Blues need a revamp in the halves if they want to rescue the series.

                            • Even though I’m happy for Easts players to be selected for either team I have had little interest in the origin series for quite sometime. The Blues over recent years run a close second to the Wallabies who promise the world but rarely deliver.

Flogging a dead horse mate, he’s not in the bubble, ergo cannot join the team unless he quarantine for 14 days.
