  • The game lacked SOO level players. To many top line players have retired & the next generation are not at that level, it lacked intensity, aggression, roughness & skill.
All the NSW Roosters were average I thought. Keary isn’t big enough for SOO, The whole left edge which was mainly Roosters players did not fire.
The NRL would be happy with the Qld win because most tipped a 3 nil whitewash to NSW.
Bennett to good for Fredy & I would say Qld will win the series.

Just about the only bloke capable of playing both FB and center at this level is Turbo and he’s unavailable so leave it to the specialists in their positions.
      You forgot Latrell.

Put Ponga, turbo, latrell,Fifita into that game, and a whole new individual dynamic and quality gets added. Be good if McGuire played for qld and klemmer or Nathan brown for a bit of spice up front too.

The rule changes mean the game wont be the same as it was - As the NRL was - Also have to remember this is being played Post Season where players would resting and relaxing - Should be a one off SOO post season - never again although the NRL are supposedly keen on having it post season - Clubs and Players should say No to any permanent SOO move to post season.

They have tours or world cups during the off-season and the intensity doesn’t drop. The atmosphere of a neutral venue with a small crowd doesn’t help. It will be different in Sydney & Brisbane cause the locals won’t want to see their teams lose.

              • [QUOTE=Lydon;n857706]Andrew Johns calling for Keary to be dropped next game for Cody Walker based on his vulnerability in defence on the edges..

                Gee he hates us!

[/QUOTE Joey looking for a scapegoat. Used to be Pearce, now looks like it’s Keary. I honestly thought he had a good game. Thought the kicks he had were good. Contributed to a couple of tries and was solid in defence. I thought Cleary was average. The game was lost on goal kicks. Three tries a piece and yet one would think the blues were smashed reading the papers. I hope Keary keeps his spot. He doesn’t deserve to take the blame for that loss. There are a few in front of him that should be more accountable for the loss.

I said 'just about' and Latrell is injured so no point going there.

Since when does a soo half need to be big? Anyone remember Alfie, JT, Sterlo, Stuart, Maloney? Not exactly the biggest halves in the world. In saying that, Whiton has proved that big mobile half can be huge asset and its a shame he wasn't selected in his current dally mm position.

QLD won the first game last year. How did that series finish? I think this year will be the same.

I didn't think the crowd last night was very neutral at all. From the sound on the tele it seemed very pro QLD.

His stint in the 2nd half was brilliant for a bloke on debut, bent the line with every run.

Thanks, I wad like a broken record about it to my missus all night. They didn't even put a single one up for Toops all game. Criminal.

                            • 2 of 3 Qld tries scored through missed tackles by each of our centres so we should drop the 5/8. Great analysis!!

NSW were not up for it from the start. I thought the game lacked any intensity.

Service to Cleary from the dummy half was pathetic and Cook looked lost a few times from there.

The Murray injury didn't help but I can't understand why Gus didn't get more game time.

Good luck to Jake and Lindsay but NSW got the wake up call they needed. 2-1 series win to the Blues. Lang Park wont be as daunting with crowd restrictions.
