  • Teddys role

Not bashing.Flanagan but his complete inability in attack has hurt Teddys role/performances. As a heap of people have mentioned, Teddy really has improved his ball playing skills and his first reciever play. In saying that it looks to me ( only my opinion) he is getting into first receiver and playing a half style role too much as he is aware Flano isnt helping or relieving any pressure off Keary..plus more importantly isnt creating any attack for us. I like Teddy trailing through the middle at a million miles per hour or out wide linking up with his centres and wingers. Obviously the loss of Rads has hurt him/us also, missing his ball playing skills. Once again just my opinion but not sure I love where Teddys role ended up this year but most the blame falls on our non existent 7

The sooner we get Walker going the better.

But we need a goal kicker.

      Yes we do !!

Even without one, surely they cant keep selecting him. In our 2 finals games this year...3 RUNS FOR 19M, 0 LB, 0 LBA. He was told to work on his game and literally didnt address it when it counted.

Until Walker is ready I would look to someone like Jimmy BBQ Maloney for a season. Experience, reliable goal kicker, knows how to manage a game, loves the club

Signing Maloney would also take the heat of Keary and Teddy, allowing them to do their own thing.

Don't know if we can afford him though

Flanno is playing the role Robbo wanted him to play as i am sure if otherwise messages would have been going out for him to run - its a myth the running half back as Cronk wasn't one and the Raiders half had 5 runs for 26 metres a lot of them in his run to score the try - Keary ran for 33 metres -Wighton for over 100- Tedesco was doing more in attack because Keary's numbers were down and have been for a while.

Not sure the point of wanting to sign Maloney though - people on here are banging on about the aging squad - Maloney will be 35 next year

tell me when you are bashing a player though as above was a pretty good attempt at it- the defence cost them these finals games - conceding 28 and 16 unanswered points in quick fashion

Really why then did Robbo drop him in favour of Lam mid season

LOL Maloney as much as I love him would be incredibly stupid signing the way the game has changed He is 35 on top of that we have enough players on the wrong side of 30 this is a young mans game now with the new rule changes

As long as Flanagan is our no.7 our attack will continue to struggle as players like Keary and Teddy will be easily targeted..

We need Walker fast tracked ASAP as he has the running game and footy smarts to make things happen on his own which in turn allows Teddy and Keary to do their thing..

Flanagan is not a running half back and never has been, hence why I’m not sure why he was targeted by Robbo in the first place..

Walker will get crushed like a car at the wreckers.
                        Wighton...1.89m tall
                        93 kgs...fast and tough.

How are Keary, Flanno, Walker supposed to tackle Wighton? let alone Kikau.
Let alone any of the rampaging Forwards from the Raiders, Panthers, Storm etc.

Chooks scored the most points during the season so obviously there wasn't much wrong with the attack one would say - the defence was the issue as they had been conceding soft tries in games during the year - in finals you can't afford to do that - conceding 28 and 16 unanswered points in quick fashion was where the games were ultimately lost - if i was Robbo i would have Flanno and Keary defend on the wing so they wont be targets in defence leaving them with more energy in attack.

The running half back is a myth as Cronk wasn't one and neither is Cleary/Williams- Williams has 5 runs for 26 metres a lot of those in the try he scored- Keary ran 33 metres compared to over 130 for Wighton - needed Keary to run more as his numbers were well down on his usual standards- sure he had a head knock and maybe the vermin game zapped his confidence too as it may have done to others - noting Robbo's players not aligned comments.

Walker hasn't played NRL and the Chooks have had a few next big things that ended up leaving the club - Joey Williams/ Sean O'Sullivan/ Jamie Soward - only Soward went on with it somewhat

Yep in all of those games we conceded 3+ unanswered tries early on and spent the rest of the time trying to play catch-up.

IMO we were just really tired. Sigh... right now we all just need a rest from this.

Have them defend on the wing - not 3 in - is there a reason halves defend 3 in especially with Keary and Flanno being slight in statue and frame making them targets in defence- Have to get onto Robbo about it
