But dudes. We lost an immortal last year. Forget Freddy. We lost the most influential player of the last 10 years in cooper ( Stallone) Cronk. No wonder we tanked. Every team does when a legend exits. Robbie did a great job. .....but he had the best squad

He had the most injured squad. And the most injured squad hasn't won a comp in 112 years.
If we had Penrith's run of luck this year we win the 3peat. No doubt.
Alas sometimes it just isn't meant to be. Having the best squad is only the start. So much more needs to go right.
3 comps in 8 years though. Some fans follow teams that have barely if at all even made the finals in that time frame.
How lucky are we?

I'm in love with the Roosters "way" we are not a team that gets given premierships, not a big bunch of sooks like the raiders and their coach.
Even if we weren't successful I'm proud of the spirit they play the game in, no diving, walking off the mark and all that crap.
And we have achieved that Everest of success of b2b in spite of the NRLs manipulative rubbish.
I have no second team and if Easts ever leave the comp it will be over for me.
They are simply the best.

it's been a tough day - not easy waking up as feather dusters.
as patchy as we played last night i wouldn't have written us off to win the comp if we'd won. still a loss in week 2 is maybe easier to take cos you're not so close you can taste it.
raiders deserved to win but things could have been different - what if jake had played week 1 etc.
disappointing to bow out in straight sets but finishing in the top 4 was something.
go easts.

I'm roosters nothing's changed.
Broncos winning the spoon is nearly as good as an easts premiership to , hate that club.
seriously some of the criticism of the team is a bit unwarranted. we were just tired in the end and injured. people saying Flanagan ain't cronk ? no shit, he earns a 1,/4 of cronks wage, with radley and verrills back next year, I'm confident of another top 4 year and we may have a bit more luck with injury, every team won't be out to get us either. plenty to look forward to roosters fans.
let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater .

we started at $1.40 favourites to win the game and were favourites to win the comp for months after the two main injuries.
