Why young players should always sign a 3 year deal as if their first year is deemed not up to scratch they have a 2nd year to change things around.

If first year of a 2 year deal is not acceptable the player is at the mercy of the club in whether they are extended or not - If not the player has 2 options stay and fight for an extension or take up an offer from another club and be released.- Most players would choose the latter.

It is amazing that after we won in 2018 Salvo went MIA for a while. No WOOHOO's when he came back. Last year exactly the same but took a little longer to get over our historic victory.
This year we get knocked out and he has the best stats of all posters. Most hit ups. Most missed tackles. And least post impact metres.

Exactly, we gave the kid a two year contract and an opportunity to show his wares.
The way contracts are designed now other clubs can negotiate from Nov 1 with a year to run on the current deal.
Flanno had a season to show us what he had and it wasn't up to the satisfaction of Robbo and he didn't improve as the year went on besides an excellent goal kicking record.
Can't understand why people take it as a personal affront.
