who here would take him back?
We already have Verrills, Lam, Lussick and Manu as backup bench hookers. We don't need him anymore.

Not Manu cause he is now our backup fullback and five-eight too. I can’t see him ever fulfilling his dream of playing 9 for us.

I think he has value as a lock or hooker or bench utility butt thats it, and never should have been made a captain. He is on huge money at the Knights. Just can't see a place for him.
I get the feeling his ego is too large to fit on the bench. And fair enough. He is a starter but just not for us. Been there done that.

        • As soon as I heard the Pearce rumour was started by Laurie Daley I was comforted to know it’s fake news, he is a joker..

Also our Club wouldn’t be dumb enough to bring that overrated Pearce back to the Club, he would have to pay us!

I heard it yesterday morning way before Daley etc....my source was not good...bloody hell ...lol I did post it somewhere on the pen yesterday.

With the change in the game, we need a running 6 and 7. I'd move Teddy to 6 and Joey to 1, or Manu to 6. Wighton has shown that if u r a good footballer, you can adapt in about half a season, his kicking was very O when he started 6, but is acceptable now. Both big bodies, great runners, great vision and I reckon Joey has a great passing game in him, just that we haven't seen it released yet, remember the try he put on for Aubo in his 300...albeit a tad fwd..

So what does this say about our recruiters....we have gone down heaps in young talent identification since O'Sullivan left.

Surely with a bit of coaching his running game could have been developed. Now we start from scratch and put a line thru 2021 comp chance.

                But bring on Sam Pearce.
Ahhhh Sammy Obst - a (non) blast from the past. Three feet four inches in platform shoes

To Pearce’s credit he always put in when he put on our jersey - more than I can say for a lot of players

Unfortunately Pearce is overly-intense and has never got rid of the panic that defines his game.

No, no and no to Pearce in a roosters jersey ever again

                  • For some reason I don't hate the Pearce idea.

And that's against all better judgment, because you can always rely on Pearce to make the wrong call.

I recall Cronk had a busted shoulder and was hiding all game. If you believe Cronk has magical powers and that his mere presence on the field won us the game then good for you. I personally find the suggestion disrepectful to our forwards who totally dominated the game, our backline who converted that domination into points, and Maubs who ran and tackled his ass off to protect Cronk.

I remember the Pen/Wall going into overdrive about how Pearce was going to be the next big thing, and will make the Roosters great again etc

Too much hype/expectations especially on a young kid who is to be the playmaker aint always the best.

                        • I like the Pearce idea as long as he knows and agrees to help transition walker into 7 over the next couple years and then move into a impact player off the bench before retiring.

                            • I gotta say....Flanno always looked like a fish out of water both on and off the field. Nothing against the kid and wish him well in the future....personality is a big part of a team sport.

Pearce could only dream of having the composure in his twighlight years that Flanno has in his first year
