thanks Salvo but I think there must be more to the story.
he wasn’t that bad this year
Why young players should always sign a 3 year deal as if their first year is deemed not up to scratch they have a 2nd year to change things around.

If first year of a 2 year deal is not acceptable the player is at the mercy of the club in whether they are extended or not - If not the player has 2 options stay and fight for an extension or take up an offer from another club and be released.- Most players would choose the latter.

      What a load of shit.

If Flanno said to Uncle Nick he wouldn't sign unless it was for three years Uncle Nick would have said GFY.

A young player who really hasn't shown much is after an opportunity. He has no bargaining power. Flanno got the opportunity to learn in the best system in the comp and showed no improvement from his first game. If he had he would have been given another year to see if he got even better.

King, you seem to be supporting an individual player over the club here.

Ive never seen you to go in and bat so hard for one guy...never.

Go back to 2017 when we let Pearce go.
            Word for word ffs.
It is amazing that after we won in 2018 Salvo went MIA for a while. No WOOHOO's when he came back. Last year exactly the same but took a little longer to get over our historic victory.
This year we get knocked out and he has the best stats of all posters. Most hit ups. Most missed tackles. And least post impact metres.
Of course all about the negatives of the club.

Exactly, we gave the kid a two year contract and an opportunity to show his wares.
The way contracts are designed now other clubs can negotiate from Nov 1 with a year to run on the current deal.
Flanno had a season to show us what he had and it wasn't up to the satisfaction of Robbo and he didn't improve as the year went on besides an excellent goal kicking record.
Can't understand why people take it as a personal affront.
I wish the young bloke good luck with his future and hope he goes on to a long and fruitful career.

              • Apparently Brent Read from The Australian has reported that the reason we are willing to let Flanno go is because he has requested a contract extension of $3.3 million over 3 years.

If that is the case, then I agree with the Club’s decision to let him go as it is too much of a risk with our cap management.

I think that is the offer we have given Teddy. Teddy wants 5 years.

Read saying Flanno going will free up the money.

I find it amazing how journos know so much about our cap yet when we signed SBW they were perplexed at where we found the money.

                    • Wtf is everyone talking about lol. Obviously Flano isn't the one who wanted a contract extension of $3.3 million over 3 years... thats teddy. We need to find room for Teddy's deal as his camp is apparently asking for alot from us. We have been willing to give Ted a 3 year deal however he originally wanted 5 so there is abit of back and fourth going on there. Just give the man what he wants!!!

I remember going to Roosters home games and seeing a player's father there. Ironically it was a halfback we used to have.

Nothing wrong with being there and supporting your son.

                              $300,000 not $3.3m.
