  • Jack Bird 5/8

An idea of mine would be to sign Bird as a 5/8 while bronx pay most of his 1st season & Keary handle the 7 , until Walker is ready then you could easily move Bird anywhere in the backline after that. Big body 5/8’s like a Whigton could work.

We have salary cap problems so i highly doubt we be chasing high priced risks. That's why we brought Flannagan, cheap halfback solution.

Would rather sign a cheap/desperate benji to cover for Walker

Terrible idea. He’s made of cotton wool.

What if the broncos pay half or more of his salary!?

One of the worst players ive seen at NRL level. Wouldn't pick him for the girls squad.

Bird is made of glass. Plus is an arrogant tosser. And despite talent, I wouldn't even have him in the top 50% of 5/8s in the comp.

Wighton is twice the player Bird is.

Bird was very good before he went to the DRONGOS, and if he could get back to that form would be an option, he has had a shocking couple of years with injury and it's a long road back. I can't see Brisbane paying HALF his freight, which would be OVER 400K.

when he was injury free he was soo quality. bennett rated him. salary cap's about value for money. if we could get him for 200k you'd take him but we won't get him for that.

He is on about 900K at the DRONGOS, minimum they would want is 600K with them putting in 300K.

yeah, i wouldn't take him for 600 cos of his injury record.
