An idea of mine would be to sign Bird as a 5/8 while bronx pay most of his 1st season & Keary handle the 7 , until Walker is ready then you could easily move Bird anywhere in the backline after that. Big body 5/8’s like a Whigton could work.

Go after Croft from the drongos exstorm after Cronkie left. could be a good gap fill or there is always Sean o sullivan possibly......i would hate to deep end Walker. he is too young to stick in the nrl halves position. It takes years to be a good half. Pearcey will be dead by the time he becomes good

Averages about 3 games a year. At least that’s more than Bird so we are on the right track.
