I say that about young people, this idea that some young people hold about earing money might be a bi-product of the social media age where there's multiple examples of kids earning millions through Social Media.

Thanks for that. I find it a stretch to think this kid will get approval to play next year before he turns 18 and unlikely that he would be required just for the backend of our season as an 18 year old debutant.

I don't care what his background is at smashing under 16's, he needs to show and prove his worth with the big boys to get the same spoils.

Everyone needs to earn their place in the team, the respect and the money.
The youngsters will be paying off our debt for years to come so they need these high paying jobs - oh you want fries with that

Back in my day i had a paper run each afternoon and when a teen a job at McDonalds as well as maintaining the Paper run - only draw back was in your breaks at Macca's you had to eat Macca's out with the riff raff i mean public/customers. They used to waste a lot of food though - if not sold in so many minutes it was tossed

Use to Ride to the local School(Primary and High School) rain hail shine or snow even- no Bus or lift in a car

We had to eat ours in the back room and they checked off what you had in your meal break and took it from your weekly pay. Did you have to count and report the waste. The amount of tossed burgers etc...? They counted everything!

Vlandy has said that the NRL would change the rule to be a rule where every case is judge on it's merit which was a way to make him stay in RL.

            • I hope this kid has worked hard, many with attributes as a youngster haven't, they rely on their size etc When you get physical with people your own size the ones that have been bigger for years often crumble.
The biggest similarity I see with Latrell is the greed, whether its him or those around him who knows, but as a Kings student I would think its him.
If he comes and he does well, great, but I hope to god we don't pay too much for him

              • For me I see nothing but trouble. I think paying this kid so much and agreeing to his terms has the potential to destroy the comrade of the team .To put one so young and untested on such a high pedestal will only breed jealousy and contempt among team mates

                • I think some of the character assessments of this 17yr old kid based on nothing but some word of gossip columnists is extremely unfair.

Seriously, casting moral judgement on a teenager none of us even know & people think he may a the problem... ironic.

                  • It's a gamble on someone so young but a lot of good judges rate him , him and Walker might be something special.

                        Agreed.

After the recent revelations over Sam Burgess in conjunction with the very public and manipulated way Souffs have handled his contract negotiations, maybe this kid and his family now simply see Souffs for what they really are - a putrid, spiteful cesspool of lies, hollow self promotion, pettiness, and player endangerment, with a decades old deeply ingrained inferiority complex.

This is a club that uses and abuses its players; with a noted history of very poor player welfare - see Kyle Turner, Greg Inglis, and Sam Burgess with his horse tranquilizer and doctored medical certificates.

Also Wayne Bennett will be on his way out soon. So who would you want to learn from? Jason Demetriou in a festering culture or James Tedesco & Trent Robinson at a club with an unrivalled culture for player welfare and development?

With financial offers on the table of equal size, only an easily manipulated pea brain like Latrell would choose Russell Crowe & Souffs over Uncle Nick, Trent Robinson & the Roosters.

Why isn't there a 'love' button? "Like" seems insufficient for this post. Choosing a club to play for is like job hunting as far as I'm concerned. Which one of us would choose a well known toxic workplace over a much more healthier successful organisation if we had a choice to make?
