LATEST: Roosters taking steps towards making room for Joseph Suaalii signing. And fitting in current players. As expected Kyle Flanagan off to the @NRL_Bulldogs. He sorted his release with the Roosters today. More Roosters will need to be moved. @NRLonNine @9NewsSydney

Latrell and Cronk would have been close to $2m combined? Another $300k-$400k for Farmer Silly and Maubs combined. Even if we give Suaalii $800k, Teddy and Keary $100k-$200k upgrade each, that is only half the money. Some of our aging forwards would be getting downgrades not upgrades. Manu and Radley probably also get an upgrade. Not many others.
I don't believe the hype about cap pressure. In fact, I expect another signing on top of Suaalii. Experienced half and/or a forward.
Edit: I will just say that Friend is the big decision. Anymore that one year and then yes we are under cap pressure as there is no way we can keep him on top dollar and give Verrills a big upgrade as well.Last edited by dice; 10-26-2020, 10:31 PM.

Imagine having the best half and fullback in the game and then having the best teenage half & fullback in the game waiting in the wings.
This is some serious succession planing if true. I’ll wait till its confirmed before I get excited though, this guy still doesn’t have a manager apparently so I could see this deal dragging out a bit and Souths will do their best to sabotage it for us.
By the sounds of it the first year of his deal will be more like 200-250k with a significant rise in year 2 so maybe not as much salary cap movement required for 2021 but someone will definitely have to make room for 2022 if this rumour does eventuate.
