I take no notice of the likes of Weidler. Everyone is after a headline with the Roosters.

If there is any truth to it then I'd get rid of Sitili before Crichton.

    • Angus is future Captain / legend material, so I couldn't see him going anywhere unless it was his own choice. Sitili doesn't offer the same upside as Angus IMO.
Watching the Morris twins in the finals series, they both looked gassed real quick. What with all these rule changes, I would rather get rid of players who maybe have only a season left in them because who wants another finals series where we get run over.

Let's face it, we all know the future is the likes of Teddy, Manu, Keary, Walker, Radley, Angus, Verillis, Collins and possibly Suaalii?? etc.. That would be a young hungry team chock full of talent and could set up another premiership winning period. What we don't want is to waste a few years watching admittedly a few legends wind down the clock on their career and we are ruing near misses.

Yes, we need to be loyal and respect what players have achieved for us but we also need to be pragmatic and move forward. Who wants to see the Storm or Bunnies winning titles for the next couple of years?

This. Angus going nowhere. IMO it will be Jake Friend taking the pay cut or shown the door, not Angus.

            • Let's hope there is no truth to Gus being shipped around massive mistake if true .I do agree but that both the Morris boys as much as I loved what they did , looked tired at the end of season .Surely we have released enough players to have money in the cap .If not don't sign the bloody kid if it costs us players like Gus

              • I don't know about the signing of this so called wonder kid. he sounds troublesome to an overall happy squad. I hope not, and I def would not be letting Gus go to accommodate him.

                • Perhaps the Twins could move to a position on the trainers or coaching staff. Could be handy in that role.

Last sunday proved how good youth goes. Silly season is here, so to, us being linked to every available player on the market.

Its a Nick counter missile at the enemy...just hope its considered as part of the overall bigger picture.

Disagree on the Morris twins, thought both had good seasons. Don't forget Josh Morris was the one making a linebreak in the 79th minute against the Panthers so again disagree that a drop off in performance in the back end of the season was due to age and fitness.

This ageing squad nonsense has been overdone.

Brett Morris made 19 linebreaks in 17 games, the best strike rate in his career to date, he averaged 144 metres per game, his best since 2012. Don't forget some of his defensive efforts on chase backs when some of his younger team mates weren't even in the frame.

Josh Morris had 11 tries, 8 try assists and 15 linebreaks in 17 games. Again his best return since the beginning of his career.

We would be crazy to let that kind of strike go from our back line if there was an opportunity to sign them up for another season.

Stats don’t tell the whole story though.

While I agree the twins both had sensational seasons, it seemed to me that they suffered from ailments towards the backend of the season and were clutching at parts of their bodies or getting up gingerly on numerous occasions.

Father Time is knocking and it’s no wonder with the vigour they play across the years.
                          ..it’ll be interesting to see

Yep not to open up wounds and stuff but if Morris hadn't been smacked in the head, he probably woulda scored a match winning try against the Faders.

Doesn't mean we woulda won the comp, just saying... he looked alright.

                            • From what I've heard Suaallii wants to play FB. No way is he going to be able to play there while Teddy is at the club. IF THE RUMOURS ARE TRUE I wont be letting Angus go for this kid. I just don't see Nick or Robbo signning a winger on massive coin. Teddy still has 5-6 years in him. I don't think we need Suaallii, better off looking for an experienced goal kicking half.
