If any player wants out of a contract they get out, has happened many times recently. Get out clauses mean nothing.

They probably had to let it out about 5-6 sizes since then.

> It's also no surprise that the Suaalii family, which does charity work in the Penrith region, became interested in the Roosters at the same time The Australian's investigation into the alleged shenanigans of former captain Sam Burgess came to light.
He's within their 4 walls and would know the whole story IMO. Woulda also heard people sledging Keary and been like 'WTF?!?!? We lose the Australian 5/8 to our arch rivals [who won B2B premierships with him] coz our drugged up co-owner drove a golf buggy into his physio's tent during rehab... and now we're all celebrating as if he was the cancer?!?!? Fark this club...'
There's a pattern here:
- We get Souffs' talent when they say 'fark I hate this toxic culture + wanna play for a better managed club!!!' We then tell them where they'll fit in best and develop 'em long-term.
- Souffs get our talent by playing silly buggers, causing a media storm, making them go through absolute BS and then saying they can play wherever they like so long as they sign the dotted line. 12 months later (after selling themselves as being the best club for the indigenous community) they tell a star indigenous player to pay his bags coz he's battling the demons of having growing up in rough circumstances.
Seriously, fark Souffs and their toxic culture! They haven't changed since drugging 'Trell's dad up on cocaine to kill the pain of an injury + leaving him on his own so that he had to sleep on the beach under some sand. Scum of the league! Sign-up if you wanna learn how to do drugs, feign injury to get medically retired, be used as their token poster boy on some phoney indigenous merch and listen to Phone Chucker's lame motivational speeches.

Well yeah , I don't know why anyone decent would want to play at Soufs.
But I'm not fussed if this kid comes over or not, we have some good kids that are waiting.
I was really impressed with Christian Tuipulotu in his one game , this kid has a big future.

We have one of the best backrowers in the comp and a future captain who we need to retain, but are chasing this kid with get out clauses in his contract??

In the case of an NRL contract, I'd be guessing the crux is that you're being paid so long as you play footy for the club. If you don't play for the club, you don't get paid.
Oh and eeer... something they mighta missed is that Sualli is a minor. He can quite literally walk out on any contract on the basis that he's a minor and there's nothing anybody can do about it.
So really - clubs would be relying on the NRL to say 'fine but we won't register another one because we don't like your style'. In which case, he'll sign with yawnion... so they won't do that.

Tom Trbojevic is probably the tallest fullback playing at the elite level and he is continually struggling for fitness.
..it’ll be interesting to see

Sonny Bill Williams has emerged as a key figure in a meeting that convinced Joseph Suaalii that his future lies with the Roosters rather than with arch rivals South Sydney.
The Roosters are poised to sign Suaalii on a three-year deal from 2022 onwards once the November 1 transfer deadline ticks over. The deal, which includes the controversial get-out clauses that proved a sticking point in negotiations with the Rabbitohs, is worth about half as much as he could have earned had he recommitted to Souths. However, the 17-year-old wants a move away from all the hype that has surrounded him at Redfern.
Suaalii, who is contracted to South Sydney for next year, wants a release that would allow him to immediately transfer to Bondi Junction. However, the Roosters are the one club the Rabbitohs aren't currently prepared to release him to, leaving the parties at an impasse.
If nothing else, the Rabbitohs are entitled to a development fee of about $50,000 for developing the precocious fullback should eventually moves on.
It was widely expected that Suaalii would reject interest from rugby union and re-sign with Souths on a deal that would make him one of the richest teenagers in Australian sporting history. However, relations between the parties soured as the very public negotiations dragged on for more than six months.
As revealed by the Herald earlier this month, the Roosters emerged as shock favourites to poach Suaalii from under the guard of their greatest rivals. In a bid to seal the deal, Suaalii and members of his family met with Roosters powerbrokers including coach Trent Robinson. Williams was also at the meeting to help deliver the pitch that convinced Suaalii to make the switch.
Himself the subject of cross-code wars for much of his career, Williams spoke to Suaalii about his own experiences and explained why the Roosters would be the perfect fit. While Williams has likely played his last game for the club – he hasn't officially indicated whether he will retire – the former All Black was only too happy to provide career advice and extol the virtues of the Roosters to one of the brightest prospects in either code.
Suaalii was also told he would be groomed to become the long-term replacement for James Tedesco when the NSW and Australian fullback eventually retires.
The King's School student left the meeting impressed with all he heard and is now ready to commit to the club.
The Roosters were prepared to allow get-out clauses into the contract that would allow Suaalii to switch codes, in the belief he won't want to activate them once he settles in at the club.
Suaalii's decision to choose the Roosters over the Rabbitohs has been a talking point even in Blues camp.
"I actually asked the [Souths] boys about him the other day," NSW and Roosters pivot Luke Keary said. "He obviously wasn't there through the year but they had him during pre-season."
Suaalii spent time with South Sydney's first grade squad last summer. Rabbitohs star Cody Walker saw enough in those sessions to suggest Suaalii is a player of immense promise.
"I've only seen glimpses of him at training but from what I've seen, he's an impressive young kid," Walker said. "He's got an athletic type build, he's got a huge future in whatever game he picks."
