What kind of scummy club would make a kid sit out the season? Oh Souffs of course. The greatest scum in the history of scum.

If that happens then surely the NRL will support him in breaking the contract. His only barrier to walking out is whether the NRL will let him register another contract in the same year after rescinding his contract with Souffs.

        NRL won't touch it..

Will be a massive grey area and open the flood gates for all if they do.

            • Hodges was benched pretty much for a season for signing with us...also Tallis sat out a season during the Super League warn??

              • A contract signed by a non-adult (<18yo) is non-binding in all states except NSW where a contract with 16-17yo is binding if it can be demonstrated they understood what they were signing.

Suaalii turned 16 in August 2019, and signed the Souths contract six months earlier in February as a 15yo. There is a big lol coming.

                    What's the grey area?
                    - Contracts cannot bind minors - they're allowed to walk out without consequence (to prevent them from being exploited exploited).
                    - He's being exploited because they're using anticompetitive bargaining tactics in an attempt to prevent him from leaving. Thus, there is no binding contract.
                    - If the NRL won't let him accept the offer of a promotion with a club he feels more comfortable playing for (after a senior adult within the organisation tasked with mentoring him faced serious DV, assault and drug allegations... including stalking a minor), then they're exploiting him. To me that's exactly why contracts aren't binding when it comes to minors. As a 15/16 year old he knew no better and took the 1st offer he got. Things have changed and he's just a kid so wasn't prepared for all this.

IMO it'd be a slippery slope if the NRL started saying 'mate we can't let you take a promotion because you have a binding contract with Souffs'.

                    • I don't believe anything the papers say until I hear it from the club.

But maybe I am just naive and should believe everything i read in the papers and internet blogs.

                      • Look at the development of Keary and Angus since they came back across (well Gus was already with us prior) but even since he came back, and look now he’s up with the best back rower/ even middle forwards in the game the Shit Stain know this and and are willing to sit a kid out all year just so he doesn’t come to our system and represent the best managed club the game has ever seen.

The Sydney Roosters are like Manchester United were in the late 80’s all the 90’s and early 2000’s under Sir Alex Ferguson, we don’t need to pay top dollar for everyone we can have two big earners and the rest sacrifice money for success playing for premierships.

90% of NRL players and young talent want to come to Bondi or the Storm system and will play willingly for less in order to become a complete player, someone mentioned in an earlier or perhaps different thread that ‘the club makes the player’ this is 100% correct.

Agreed. IMO it's highly probable that most of this is his agent doing the rounds and trying to maximise his position in contract negotiations for when he turns 18.

If it were me at that age, I'd wanna see all the options before making a decision. But I mean seeing how well Koroibete has gone in Yawnion, IMO there's a valid argument that the NRL's simply tougher than yawnion to the point where not just Israel (who IMO may not be as good as we think in today's League terms!!!) but basically any large, slightly above mid-tier NRL-grade back can cut through a yawnion defence like hot butter. For example Fergo, Tupou, Latrell, Manu, Ado-Carr...etc would probably just get the ball and run down the field out-running any yawnion forward (they carry more weight for scrums) and palming off yawnion flankers (no yawnion forwards are that small), centres (way smaller than league ones), halves and wingers. League has grown to the point where yawnion simply doesn't have the same calibre of players + outside backs make poster-boy yawnion stars.

All Izzy's gotta do is sit around waxing his legs while the forwards collapse their scrum, wait for the ref to give up and be like 'QUICK TAP!!! SCREW IT!!!' palm off a flanker + a centre and he's 1-on-1 with a p!ssy little winger for a certain try. That's literally how flawed the game is...

This guy could ask for $$$ before he even plays a game of 1st grade anything and he knows it. I mean when James O'Connor and Kurtley Beale are your options at FB...

                          • We let Latrell go a year early to them. They make the young kid sit out a year out of spite. Difference between the two clubs there. That’s why they don’t win anything.

                            • He is not allowed to play GPS Rugby next year either. So by the time he gets to us it will be 2 years of not having played any football.

And yet the pride of the league they call themselves that club is just a basket case and like you said won’t win anything for a very long time, Sualli will get here and when he does we will turn him into a superstar and cut Souffs to pieces.
