Yeo, quality footballer and the one Penriff player who I like and admire (apart from Tetz), seems to be the flavour of the month....but give me Taumalolo over Yeo every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

If Radley was fit all year I doubt we would be even arguing about it though.....

Yeah for Salary cap value Yeo is the man, but I reckon JT is still a better lock than Yeo on pure talent and ability to win games.

Imagine JT if he was playing for a heavyweight club, they would be unstoppable.......

Dally M not about picking the best player. It is about the player that accumulates the most points. It heavily skews points towards dominant players in teams with few other dominant players to share the points with.

It is very difficult for a player in a dominant team to win it. Last year Teddy had to consistently be the dominant player in the dominant team to win it. The guy is just a freak.

the dally m points system is fundamentally flawed but what are you gonna do about it.

i haven't watched every nrl game by any means but if you were going to pick an nrl team of the year to play the martians in a couple of weeks i'd go -

                teddy
                toops
                olam
                wighton
                ado-carr
                walker
                cleary
                taumololo
                kikau
                bateman
                papali
                smith

Pretty decent team you've picked there. I wonder who will be in the Martian team though?

Have a read of this... like wtf

The reigning Dally M Medal winner collected a whopping 34 votes last year in what was an exceptional individual season.

In season 20 he polled votes in only six of the 17 appearances he made, and was man-of-the-match on three occasions.

He could be considered pretty stiff given he averaged 199 metres per game, had 127 tackle busts and 29 linebreak assists.

In Round 2 the Roosters lost to Manly by a single point and it was Sea Eagles star Tom Trbojevic who took the 3 votes. Tedesco got 2 for his 264 metres, six tackle busts and three offloads.

In Round 3 he missed out on the maximum again when he ran for 237 metres, had 10 tackle busts and 2 linebreaks, and a linebreak assist. His teammate Victor Radley took the 3 votes.

In Round 8 he polled no votes in a two-point loss to Melbourne despite 226 metres, two linebreaks, 9 tackle busts, 4 offloads and a linebreak assist.

The following week he again failed to poll a vote despite 213 metres, 4 try assists, 2 linebreaks, 4 linebreak assists, 7 tackle busts, and 5 offloads against the Cowboys.

In Round 16 he got 2 votes for his four try assists, 10 tackle busts, and 5 linebreak assists against the Broncos. His teammate Sitili Tupinoua was given the maximum votes.

Maybe Tedesco’s season wasn’t as successful as 2019 but there’s no doubting these stats are monstrous and he was vital in taking the Roosters to a top-four finish.

He shared the votes with teammates Luke Keary (18), Siosiua Taukeaiho (13), Brett Morris (6) and Victor Radley (6) despite the latter playing only a few games before getting injured.

Tedesco’s vote tally might be a reflection of the insane expectations the rugby league world now has about the superstar fullback.

Yes, I don't care for it either.

I had an opportunity to watch it last night, but didn't bother.

It is inconsequential for our chances of a premiership, which is the only thing that counts in my book at the end of the day.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Its pretty simple to remedy...just give players a score out of 10, that way in a team with multiple stars, players are not splitting the score as to who is the best. So say keary, teddy and sst can all score a 9 in a match and not be disadvantaged. In the event of a tie at the end of the season then the player with the most number of highest scores would determine the ultimate winner.

Good idea - bigger job to judge though - easy enough to pick the best player on the field and not much harder to do top 3 but to have to rate all 34 players is quiet difficult and would be pretty subjective for a lot of those scores.

I like though maybe with limits on the top scores like max 1 10 , 2 9,s after that whatever

from memory that's the way the rugby league bible used to score it. makes sense. you'll still have good/bad judgement calls but strong players in weak teams will no longer have the inside running.
