Everyone knew prior to Flano signing that Sam Walker was going to be our future halfback and that Flano was only here for a stint until his Dad got a head coaching role... it ain't rocket science.

Anyways if this is true I'm not sure where he gets his ego from, he is very average. Also this took me by suprise aswell, Flano from the outside seems like a really nice dude... after the games he was one of the only players to come over to the chookpen side and thank the fans, which made me gain lots of respect for him.

I don’t think our club/Robbo are naive enough at all to assume that an untried 18 year old with a overly light frame is the all the eggs in that basket future no 7 / crazy talk.

Sam seems to be great - has all the skills and I’m not death riding him at all - he looks super impressive from the highlights I have seen - but so did Omar Slimeyamkle in school / under 20s and Japanese rugby highlight reels!

I hope Sam turns out to be what we and the club hope he can be - the signs are solid but knowbody knows how he will transfer to playing against men.

hastings was amazing under 20s for us and downright average in firsts.

I don't know how to link this, but I found it with a google search. Kyle is full of praise for Trent and Keary. Trying to do his best for the club, says he was a bit overawed at the start, trying to not make mistakes, then Cords told him to have a go, open up, play his game etc. I can't see any cockiness or arrogance in it.

There's cocky and confident, then there's arrogant ... There was a moment in a game earlier in the year where he scored a try then looked at the attempted tackler on the ground then spat.... He completely lost me right there. I was already not a fan but that was it. Yes, he's not the 1st player to do that BUT its a shit attitude that brings that action into play.

I have trust in Robbo here. We have know idea if it was on field form or off field persona but Robbo would not drop him just for spite.
Way more to this than any of us know.
In regards to letting Trell go, again I will trust in Trent. Trell wanted to play fullback and wanted more money. That is all their is to it. People think we have an endless cap but we don't and sometime have to make hard decisions.
I myself would be happy to keep Flanagan for next year as I think Lamb is more of an impact Dummy half at this stage of his career. Walker is an unknown.
At the end of the Day Robbo is with these guys all year and I have complete faith in him.

I'm glad he is gone. If Robbo feels he is not worthy of an extension I see no reason to disagree. The kid is bog average.

I think it has more to do with the cap than anything else- 3 halves on the books -one too many - all this link up with his dad etc is pure speculation at best. Robbo will need to have a plan though as they will miss his goal kicking unless there is someone as good to take over this role - need to turn 4 into 6 consistantly

Is Shane Flanagan really a certainty to get a first grade gig again? He is a disgrace and thankfully not someone who will ever be with the Roosters. Kyle might have to wait a long time unless some shitty club like St.George appoints him.

Word is that around “Round 13” this season, leading up to the match against the Dragons when Kyle Flanagan was dropped, Kyle had been talking to team mates and staff either in a sarcastic or legitimate way (unknown) saying that “My future goal is to play for and under my Dad (Shane Flanagan)” implying that when Shane’s suspension is lifted and he acquires a head-coaching role somewhere in the NRL, Kyle will follow him and join him.


So, Kyle’s playing future at the Roosters from Kyle’s own perspective was going to be possibly a short stint.


All that talk that Robbo wanted more from Kyle, improve on his game, Lachlan Lam was knocking on the door for a shot etc were just blanket excuses just to cover up the shock (slap in the face) that the Roosters as a club felt but didn’t want to reveal to the media etc as the main reason. Hence why the club has decided that they will NOT retain him beyond his current contract, have said to him he is free to be released for next season to join another club and basically the Roosters as a club will not invest any further time, effort and potential development on Kyle Flanagan. The club has said "you're either with us or against us".


This is only what I’ve been told by a friend who was told by someone from within the inside. Could be true or bullshit !

Stop spreading bullshit. He is a good kid. His father is a big problem.
Roosters were trying to school him into being Cronk and that might have been OK with Verrills and Rads in the team.

Flano lucked out when both Verrills and Rads were injured.
Having Friend and Flano in the team limited our attack.
Robbo would never drop Friend so we all suffered.
His solution was to have Teddy play as a 5/8 and fullback and Keary play as half and 5/8 while Flano and Friend watched on and tried not to get in the way.

You are like a broken record with your 3 runs story, grow up you tool. He's a kid in his first full season, and deserves much better than to be rubbished by a nothing like you. Tell us again about how bad Collins and Iku are.
