Then its time to call uncle Nick to join the negotiating table, if need be.

That's not true thought is it? Because after Radley's injury Crichton continued to play on the right edge right up until Round 10 until he suffered an injury of his own.

Then he returned from injury through the interchange. In fact he only started 2 games at lock in the whole season, to pretend he was Radley's replacement just isn't true.

I thought it was an unusual misstep by Robbo to start Aubbo ahead of him in the final against Canberra and once again Angus was our most damaging forward, despite playing 50 minutes. If he started and played close to 80 minutes, I believe we probably win the game.
        Crichton*

Robbo started Aubusson ahead of him in all finals last year too, the great form in the last few months of 2019 you speak of was when he shifted to lock...

Like I said he struggles with the structure of playing 2nd row. Understanding what lines to run, not overcrowding his playmaker, when to pass, when to run, when to be the decoy, when to take a tight hit up or when to run wide. I thought he looked a lot better this year but its just fact that for whatever reason he just hasn't been able to nail down that #12 jumper.

Another new right edge half next year, let's see what happens but if Robbo doesn't play him there for the full season AGAIN the I could see why the Roosters would be looking to get him off the books as he's not going to share the lock role with Rads. Needs to make the #12 jersey his.

I might sound like a broken record, but the time was right this year for a swansong for both Friend and 1 of the Morris brothers in order to correct the ship.

I love Jake as much as the next person, and i'm well aware of what a great influence he is and what a great clubman he is.

But it's the price of success.

In order to keep all of Teddy, Manu, JWH, SST, Crichton etc sacrifices need to be made. It's sad, but that's the nature of the competition.

Sacrifices will come from somewhere. The only questions are who they will be, and will they still be in the peak of condition/ability within the next 2-3 years of their contract.

Considering Cordner's career could be shorter than expected due to injury, and given the large flaws in Sitili and Butchers games, Crichton is an absolute must keep - no question in my mind. Not only is Crichton an exceptional talent with leadership skills, it's simply smart squad management.

And he is only 24 years old. We need to keep him.

We'll just have to agree to disagree because I basically think the exact opposite on every point. Crichton was amazing all year, wherever he played. In fact I'd say he was our best forward by a mile.

He is the complete edge backrower imo. His quality and form all season in that position was typified by the way he steamrolled Luai and carried him 15m for a try at the end of the wk 1 finals game.

So I'll call bullshit on the rumours that he's being shopped. This time next year Boyd will be 29 and who knows how his health will be; so Angus will be even more valuable to us.

Surely with us retiring and moving on
                  Aubbo
                  SBW
                  Possa
                  Kyle
                  Cronk
                  Latrine
and only signing the Morris boys we must have enough money in the cap to fit this kid and not loose future captains , ridiculous if not

Has anyone else considered that TKO might have to play 2nd Row/ lock next year ( or for a major part during the game ) ?

Being our only noted Goalkicker, he will have to play 80 mins ..

That would move Liu to Frontrow, but again make a logjam for the back row spots

At the back end of both of his seasons Robinson has shifted him into a rotation role at lock forward and each time Crichton has absolutely killed it. He seems to thrive on the freedom that lock forward provides him and really struggle with the structural requirements that 2nd row demand of him.

The problem is Radley is a 60min lock forward and is a special talent. You don't want to split the 80mins between the two because they're both too good for that and you wouldn't want to shift Radley to an edge to accommodate Crichton because Radley provides so much to the team that Crichton couldn't from lock forward not to mention I'm not sure how he would go in the 2nd row despite playing quite a bit of his junior footy there.

It's a really tough one but Crichton just doesn't seem to have found his position in the team yet and for someone on such a significant salary that must be causing some headaches for Robbo.
I would say he's an 80 minute player.

I tell you, since Peter O'Sullivan got banned the recruitment in the Roosters has gone arse backwards. Getting rid of a 80% goal kicker and now getting rid of our best second rower. And going after a youtube sensation who looks good trampling G.P.S. schoolboys.

I think its clear that goalkicking is not as important as it once was and as such, a kicker is no longer as important to a team. Still important but just not as much. The new rules means the game is going in a different direction and goal kicking isn't going to make a big difference in blowout score lines like we have seen under the set restart rule.

"We run our salary cap better than most clubs. We don't back-end contracts, we don't put in ratchet clauses that stymie some clubs,'' Politis told The Sydney Morning Herald.

''We don't have many third-party agreements. We make some hard calls. We don't always get it right but we correct them quickly.''
