Yep, SBW at 35 years of age is not going to be demanding anything over $550k - $600k MAX, in my opinion. He isn't a spine player like Cam Smith (in comparison) who at 37 years of age can demand a high amount of money beacuse of the position he plays, the long minutes he can play, the quality goal-kicking, the role as Captain and the fact that he is known to demand a high-level of playing effort and he's basically an on-field coach at the same time.

SBW is an awesome player but as he would be getting older, playing one - two stints during a game, I don't think the NRL would be stupid enough to set his marlet value higher than what he is actually capable of delivering.

remains to be seen if boyd takes a year off. if he did, and that's a big if, then i'm not against the club signing sbw as a cheaper one year replacement. if the club thinks it would work then i'd support it.
i love what sbw brings to the team.

IF Boyd is out then Sonny would be great for $600K or less. With a rest and a full pre season under his belt he still has plenty to offer both on and off the field. I would be happy to flick Sitili or Butcher for SBW.

if he takes half the money i'd support that. would love him at the club to take care of unfinished business.

i'm no doctor but you'd figure boyd taking a full year off won't do any harm and might extend his career. there's no way he'd want to do that and the decision has to be his but if we can get sbw as a one year replacement boyd might feel like he's not letting the team down.

Much rather pay the money to Gus and keep the future rather than persisting with the past .Don't get me wrong would love to have Sbw go around again but Gus must be our priority

                  My take on this.

The Dominos will fall as follows:

                  Cordner to retire in 2021

Fitzy to take up a Head Coaching Role in 2022 - prob at Sharks

Cordner and SBW to join coaching team for 2022

                  Gus to stay

If SBW could play around 12 games I'd seriously consider him as a squad player.

Even if Cordner plays we are thin on second rowers. Sitili struggled with the weekly grind.
