  • roosters had most successful record in captain's challenge

we had the best record in overturning ref's decisions with 10 successful challenges.

was that partly cos we get the worst decisions from refs?
The first year of the captain's challenge in the NRL brought a disparity between which clubs were successful at judging when to challenge and which were reckless.

Thanks for posting this Zac. I think it's because we have an excellent coach who sets an example for the captains in how to interpret the rules and not be afraid to use the challenge..still don't know how Souths got 83 more penalties than us back in 2014 even though we were minor premiers that year..

In 2014, the vermin had about 80 penalties from GI looking like he got tackled dangerously as he used to launch himself into tackles getting himself past the horizontal..... milking a penalty. Or, take a huge step forward when about to play the ball, which everyone else can’t do, would ‘earn’ a penalty when a defender would touch him

        Thank you for posting Zac.

I think it is a bit of both TBH - tough penalties, as well as astute coaching and guidance.

Unfortunately, while good to know, it didn't really help us in the end when it mattered most.

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

An interesting stat, I do think St Merge win the most successful though with 7 wins 3 losses

The best challenge was the one Robbo recommended in the Panthers game. The first Coaches challenge in the league.

i agree. the journo took a funny angle. no doubt teams should be careful about not wasting challenges but the aim is to overturn as many bad decisions as possible not to have a good %.

Do we win a trophy for it?

I think we have a system in place, where the coaches tell the trainer who tell the captain, all within the allotted time.
                ..it’ll be interesting to see
