he didn't start the talk about racism so you can't really blame him for contributing. are aussies racist? that doesn't have an easy answer but hard to argue that we don't have a history of racism - one of the rallying cries for us to get together in 1901 was the racist white australia policy (and that was in force for decades). saying that doesn't make you unpatriotic - denying it is silly.
It would be nice to hear something positive though and even a little love for country would balance the rhetoric.

Oz has achieved so much in its short life and has a shitload to be proud of too.

FocussIng on negatives exclusively and repetitively is just sad, and as HC says reflects on the individual as pitiful, carrying so much hate in their heart. It would be an awful way to live.

As I've said before, its not compulsory to live here.

The term racism is a misnomer, but if you want to use it we are surely one of the least 'racist' countries in the world given our youth and rapid blending of cultures.

I don't think there has been a more objectionable and pitiful person that's appeared on this forum.

At last! Someone else has got Jaxie's number.

And -ism, I feel ya man. You've alluded to your family situation in the past and you have endured more than most in similar situations but you have chosen an exemplary pathway despite the pain that is obvious in your posts. Keeping in touch with your daughter and being there as her father will pay off big time for you eventually - they always come to appreciate the security that you have given them. Pity that you can't take her to the game. Good luck to you comrade. PC61.

fair enough and yeah, some other countries are more racist than us.

hard to get the balance right between criticising what needs to be criticised and throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

He could be referring to you '08. Country whingers don't attract a lot of sympathy generally what with Pork Barillaro and Glady now admitting that they only spend on LNP electorates which doesn't auger well for a working class sport like League. What are they doin' to out west, changin' in the toilets?
Please excuse the tone. I bear you no ill will. Since my chastening at the hands of another member, whom I will not name since we are now as ships in the night, I've become a turn the other cheek kinda guy and I did spend a very happy fortnight in Coonabarabran when a teenager, snowed the local sheilas in fact. Often, behind the School of Arts, we would get it on and later they would sit transfixed as I explained the glory of revolutionary socialism, the scourge of News Ltd, the muddle headedness of Anzac Day and the not so subtle class system in Australia.

            • You know what!
Yes, it's the off season but stop derailing Roosters/NRL related threads (you know who you are) & rant and rave political correctness on either the unrelated/off topic sections of this website OR
              other websites!
