  • Club or state & country

If you’re lucky enough to have had a reasonably long footy career, what would give you more satisfaction:
    a) winning a premiership ( or 2) but never representing your state or country
    b) not win a premiership but win few SOO series and Tests and possibly a World
    Cup ( or2)?
personally I’d take option a all the time .

Both would leave holes but I think I have to agree if one or the other probably a premiership

      c) playing for the chooks.

But yeh A, in other sports I can see the appeal of winning say a world cup over a premiership but rep footy in league is at a pretty poor standard. Even Origin has started to drop off the last few years.

I think having a successful club career, maybe playing 300+ games and winning premierships is the pinnacle of the game. What does playing for Australia even mean anymore? Either NRL or SOO represent the height of our sport.

If you ask any player, it would always be premierships.

Clubs like Tigers would get more hyped about their players playing rep footy - Roosters play for premierships

How much time do you spend at all three option?? Obviously your chosen club has the most time spent every year with pre season training/ 25 rounds regular season and then another three!!!!

Then another Question would be , who pays the most money??? Obviously your club

                THE ANSWER IS OPTION ( A )

                  Option A : Premierships!

Kangaroos have lost the "luster of yesteryear".

Origin has turned into a glorified club game.

                  Go Easts.

If I was playing rugby, I would go with b) (winning the Shute Shield with the Easts Beasts would be nice, but not the be all and end all), but with league, a) with no hesitation. I agree with the other points, so it is unanimous so far!

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

I was watching one of those silly videos about send offs in RL.
What I really noticed is when a player was hit in a rep game the players were like oh well, I do realise that would not be QLD but they were not on the vid)
But when a player was hit high during a club game the team mates were straight in

Maybe its not totally indicative of what happens but it was something I def noticed and I think it shows that club is very important esp as you spend so much time with your team mates
