    Would be an excellent signing.

The "sombrero" call will be going nuts if this happens!

With the release of Reynolds I hope the Tigers do get him & I would say they will. The Tigers should try & buy back the farm. A Woods, both Sironens, M Lodge, Nathan Brown, Koroibete, Ado Carr & thats without naming the worlds best player Tedesco.

Yeah can’t see it happening but wouldn’t mind if he’s signed with us for 2021 and for cheap only. Main priority right now regarding 'money' should be to re-sign Angus but if we have spare money then yeah ok...guess so...but the halves are pretty stacked now with Keary, Lam, Keighran and Walker. Is Drew Hutchinson still with us ? because if he is then you can add him in the mix as well for cover.

Keary is the only one with a guaranteed starting spot and the rest will have to prove themselves. Widdop may be the one to fill the void for half-back and goal-kicker this season due to his playing experience etc and may be used to allow Walker slowly to be blooded in/settle into first grade and in regards to Lam ? I think he’s going to end up like a super-sub style of player similar to Connor Watson filling in the halves or at hooker (as needed).

I don’t believe Lachlan Lam is the answer in the halves moving forward, I do think Walker and Keary is definetly the solution!

I don't mean literally shoot fans..it's a figure of speech.

You've suggested Widdop would be a good signing. I happen to like him, however we are on the cusp of rebuilding and have to look to the future - not 1 year stop gaps for which we will get in a bidding war over and which will eat up valuable funds needed elsewhere in the squad.

Robbo evidently agrees, which is why Lam was just resigned, Keagan has just been signed and why Walker is also being touted. Then consider money that will be required to retain that talent once they come good (i'd suggest based on our history of identifying talent, at least two of them will).

Throw Verrils into the mix too, and Widdop mathematically or strategically makes no sense.

Signing Widdop would be a knee jerk. Throwing our efforts into who we have in the halves is what will set us up for a competitive next 3-4 years.

It’s hard to argue when you put it that way and I understand your point regarding Widdop!

I am a fan of Lammy as a utility player but just not sold on him as a long term half in our squad..

I do believe Keary and Walker will be the 6 and 7 however I’m sure Robbo has a plan and will make the correct call in the end..

I agree. If Lam was any good why did we buy Flanno and Walker.

              (sorry Jacks)

True Re the running game - good in other areas but zero running game

If Keary goes down we are screwed.

I'd throw everything at Widdop. I remember an Anzac Day game, think it was 2017. Steelers were all over us until Widdop got injured and came off.

Prior to then I was impartial to him as a player but he was the best on ground that day. He was the main reason the Steelers were May Premiers for those seasons.

He can also cover fullback from memory. If it means one or two legends retiring to lure him then so be it.

It actually makes a lot of sense that we would be interested. Our current options are not going to win us a comp any time soon.

Would be a great signing but can’t see how we can afford. Plus we need another prop!!

I imagine like all good coaches he backed himself and his staff to coach this into him. Then found out its just not there.

I didn't find him bad at all. Thought his support play was excellent.
