I'd throw everything at Widdop. I remember an Anzac Day game, think it was 2017. Steelers were all over us until Widdop got injured and came off.

Prior to then I was impartial to him as a player but he was the best on ground that day. He was the main reason the Steelers were May Premiers for those seasons.

He can also cover fullback from memory. If it means one or two legends retiring to lure him then so be it.

It actually makes a lot of sense that we would be interested. Our current options are not going to win us a comp any time soon.

Re the Keary argument - you could make that case for a lot of teams in the comp. Not many clubs have significant experience in both the 6 and 7. Where we are lucky is in our options - Lam, Walker, Keighan, or even Verrils could all shine in the halves. Teddy at 6 (with Manu going to fullback) is also an option.

Not to mention, fullback is a MASSIVE non issue when Tedesco, Manu and Brett Morris are all more than capable.

Also consider Widdops record at the Dragons: 2017 (finished 9th), 2018 (finished 7th) , 2019 (finished 15th).

Not to mention one single Widdop game 4 years ago should not come into our decision making for 2021.

They only genuine case you could make for Widdop to be signed, in my opinion, is goalkicking.

Out of the top 5 sides in the comp the Roosters are the only team who havnt got 2 top line halves so if Keary did go down surely people on here dont think you can win a comp with Lam, Walker & Keighran in the halves. If we got Widdop then at least you still have 1 top line half if Keary go's down.
