Hello anyone home? Its 2021. The game has changed it's not about defence any longer. Fact Do you understand that? Robbo finally understands that maybe you take a little longer.

Robbo has made changes in 2021 as I have said before. He knows the focus is now on attack. The team this year will be all out attack.

Yeah I reckon every year is different. Past performance is never a good predictor of future performance.The 2020 Robbo choked in the finals. Our pre-finals loss to Souffs was an absolute disgrace and bowing out in week two showed a lack of well... something!

2021 will be tough. I think Robbo's a solid coach but with the sudden emergence of the Faders + Pemriff, Melbourne's 15 year run of success and Souffs recruiting quite aggressively (with their 'supercoach' at the helm), the comp is tough. The comp is really tough and we're gonna have to do way better than 2020 if we wanna go anywhere! Not an easy task when you've got a new halves pairing and you've lost a couple of solid forwards.

Notably we're banking on youth. I don't think Walker and Suaalii will play a lot of footy in 2022. Maybe 2023-23 (and we'll win then), but 2021 will be a tough transition period!

But then are the breaks and we need to look forward to the next season, and enjoy the golden era we’ve been blessed to be part of for the last 10 years.

I beg to differ KJ - I believe our focus again will be on defence, but this time on the new rules and the faster game.

We had the best attack (and most tries scored) in 2020, but our defence was like Swiss cheese in some of the games, particularly in the second half of the season.

If we can defend the opposition’s fast attack and the 6-agains, then we will be well on our way to have a very successful season.

honestly, to think were gping to win every year, is unrealistic. we were the first true b2b premiers since 92/93. over the last 20 years , weve made 8 ? gfs, what an amazing achievement. robbo has been an absolute god send, lets be thankful , we are so lucky.

No matter what happens in the game, what rule changes occur or what tactics are used, Defence is always the key. Its always the most important aspect of the game no matter what.
Sometimes changes improve the attack like in 2005 and the defence doesn't match it initially. but it always catches up

This couldn't be more wrong. In 2020 We had the most points scored and hence best attack, yet our points against was not in the top 4. Guess which two teams had the least points against? Melbourne and Penrith. Crazy how that works huh?

imo , the roosters should still concentrate on d. the game tends to be a pendulum between a and d. the way i see it, if the team who conceded the least amount of points in say 2013 conceded, 314 points. ok, the team who concedes the least in 2021 is say 414 same amount of games played. that is still less then 15 other teams, which would mean you still win more then you lose . does this make sense ? we can be a defence minded team in an attack minded era and still succeed. im drunk , maybe im delusional.
