I think its obvious it will be Keary 7 Lam 6 unless injuries but I would say for Rd 1 Keigham will be 14 thats providing Cordner, Rads & SV are unavailable.

Lam should just get the ball to Keary at 5/8 as he has more experience, keep it simple.

We need to threaten the opposition on both sides of the field.

IMO there's no difference and opinions differ about which one is the 'dominant' half. Also, all coaches use their 5/8 and halfback differently so I dunno if there's a set role for either. I mean does:
          - The 5/8 do the positional kicking and the half does all the distribution? (Or the opposite?)
          - The 5/8 own the left side and the HB owns the right side?
          - One or the other take on more of a ball running role?
          - Is the HB the dominant half simply because Cronk was? (Or was he? Think about the 2019 GF or when he was paired with JT... neither position dominates, it's more about who is the more creative/experienced/steady half).

I don't think there are any hard rules or distinctions between the two roles. Thus, I dunno why people keep raising the possibility of a change. Maybe we base our opinions on what Joey & Freddy did... or what JT and Cronk did? (I see no similarities between the two partnerships... that's before you factor in Cam Smith's 'hooker' role).

Keary will keep his #6 jersey and continue to take a dominant role. Teddy said this in a recent interview (and that Walker's too small... looks like a ballboy right now but plays like an experienced 1st grader). Walker will be HB once he puts on a bit of weight. For now Lam is our HB with Kieran [sic] and Hutcho on standby for injuries. Keary will 100% play more of a dominant role (like he's done ever since the 2019 GF).

"Lachlan Lam will start the season at halfback for the Roosters but another second-generation playmaker in Sam Walker is keeping the heat on, according to captain Jake Friend."

"Lammy went really well in his few games last year and unfortunately got injured," Friend told NRL.com.

"At this stage, he's the first option but I'd say Sammy Walker is right there on his heels. Drew Hutchison too.

Unless the Chooks are just foxing it looks like Lammy will be number 7 & Keary 6.

I think Lam will be the v good this year. He's bulked up, done his penance, is a year older and he'll be very determined to succeed.

Me too. You don't play junior reps unless you have huge potential.
Making Steve Naughton look like Vince Mellars...

Its probably more nostalgia sake because of his old man but I hope young Lam kills its and keeps the rest of the wannabes in reserves .

If lam is our starting half we have gone backwards. I like Lam but he is no star, it was a dumb move to let Flannigan go, If Robbo is such a great coach, why couldn't he coach Flanno? I think he has been blessed with a bloody good herd of cattle over the last 8 seasons. He is an OK coach, but I certainly do not think he is a Guru.

                      "why couldn't he coach Flanno?"
maybe the kid wouldn't listen. He was offside with the group, so something was amiss and he had to go.
Fitzy said Lam is ready, I trust his footy judgement. We'll all know after about round 6.

you are kidding right?... maybe the kid wouldn't listen, he was offside with the group.... what rubbish. Maybe the coach should have stepped up and sorted any problems out.

It's all speculation and I doubt that the full story will ever come out.

As we all know, NRL coaches are judged purely by results so Robbo would be making decisions on the best players and combinations he can have at his disposal within the salary cap guidelines to win a comp.
Robbo has proven himself to be an astute and successful coach over the past few years, so I fully back whatever decisions he makes, even though I may disagree with them based on the limited knowledge about the team that I have.

                          TiT!

                            I am Lam, Lam I am...Lam!

I think some people will be surprised about him this year.

The shortcomings in Flanagan's games aren't things that can just be coached. I do agree with you on Lam, I have my doubts the guy can organise a team. He couldn't really do it in the games that I watched him play for the Bears and I think his kicking game is average. I would be surprised if he is still halfback by the seasons end.

Disagree on the going backwards comment. Last year Lam was putting the heat on Flannigan and earned his starting position on merit, until injury cruelled his season and Flannigan got his spot back.
