I can't really say because if I were coach, I wouldn't have dropped him on form.

    Robbo's tactic failed. It didn't:
    - Rev up Flanno or teach him a lesson because there was no message sent with the sacking... just 'you are playing good but not good enough by my standards'.
    - Add more direction to our team while Lam was playing.
    - Increase bonds within the team.
    - Last very long because Lam got injured, forcing him to use Flanno (which he didn't wanna do but HAD to do, making it REALLY awkward for everybody!!!)

I think it's fair to say that both Robbo and Flanno failed to form a working bond in 2020. The failure of both individuals heavily impacted our finals form and now that Robbo's the 'winner'... there's significant pressure on him to make it work for his chosen man (Lam). I like Lam but he can't kick conversions (or in play), isn't much of a distributor and will be playing a role similar to that of Cook/Murray at Souffs... that is... look for holes and dart through then ASAP. Not giving Souffs a pat on the back but maybe Robbo's reading of the game is that it's touch footy and that's exactly what you need... the threat of an easy 30m linebreak if you don't commit forwards to the middle of the field (freeing up space on the edges). Of course, dropping a guy doesn't give him a license to do that... it makes him tense up and 2nd check everything so that he's not getting criticised for other areas of his game.

Any queries people had on why he was let go have finally been put to bed.

Good to see the club doesn't put up with people like that. Latrell knows all about this.

In my view, this guy is showing me that he is more pissed at not playing for a finals / premiership force than looking forward to a new challange. He can see that being in a side thats winning more consistantly with great players around him can overshadow his real ability. Now hes in a side where he runs the show and he seems scared to me that he will now be in the spotlight more , with ordinary players around him and he isnt worth the hype.!!

I am glad he is gone and thought we should never have signed him but if everyone is to be honest, anyone would have the shits when they signed a 3 year contract and were then punted after one .

I don’t really think he said anything to bad at all. Just was honest - he wasn’t vitriolic or talking the club down was he?

Our club can lay claim to having the two slowest ever halfbacks. Kurt Sherlock and Flanno.

Was actually2 years , I never thought he would be here beyond that but was a little surprised we cashed him out a yr early. Did him a favour really. Good chance if he stayed he would have spent a big chunk at Norths and his value would have plummeted on the open market. I heard we upgraded the 2nd year of Walkers original contract with the saving on KF. I think Kyle should just STFU and be thankful for the massive payrise over the next few years.

I did some measurements and realised that they had to doctor team photos to fit his head and jaw in the photo

"When Victor Radley got hurt, Radley was their link in the middle of the field," Johns added.

"Also, Luke Keary had those head knocks. I don't understand it."

Why do people keep saying Keary had head knocks last season? He injured ribs against Melbourne but the only time he had a head knock was against the Raiders in the semis and he was fine to return and play out the game. He missed zero games last year due to head knocks

Pretty much ay? I know I've done that a few times during my career when there's been a setback and am sure I'm not the only one.

[QUOTE=King Salvo; Volkman is one of 5 train and trial possible candidates for the last 2 top 30 squad positions -may also be in contention for a development contract as there are 2 of these vacant

A week or so ago I asked if anyone had any news on Volkman. A day prior to that a crew of Samoans were felling trees at my place and when I asked about any NRL interest one of them volunteered that he was a Rooster supporter. He then added that he was no fan of "rugby" generally but that his cousin was Ronald Volkman and that the family was excited on being told that young Ron had made the "team" for 2021 but he had no idea which team.

Volkman is a real talent (and a goal kicker) and there's a struck match between him and Walker imo. Problem is, like Walker, will he cut it at NRL level? Schoolboy star is one thing. Luai has been several years in the making.

Hastings was actually a centre when first playing 1st grade in 1976 and into 1977 so he did have some toe - Beetson moved him to half back half way or so through the 1977 season - he replaced Johnny Mayes in the Half Back role

I think all that tackling he did was detrimental to his attacking game - used to see in Rugby League Week his tackle counts being 40 to 50 week in week out - not sure what some others were doing - Ayliffe/Harvey for an example would have tackle counts in the mid to high teens week in week out.
