Graham Hughes played NSW both cricket and league same time. Last person to do it I think. I know that’s not what you asked - I don’t know your answer - could google but that’s no fun. My guess is Easts as the club though otherwise you are going to cop more flak.

Correct - Herbert (Herbie) Lesley Collins- Tri-Colours / Roosters player # 60- Also Captained Australia for 2 test against South Africa due Warwick Armstrong not touring because of illness.

                19 Tests - 1352 runs 4 hundreds (high score 203) and 6 fifties - average 45.06 - 4 wickets @63- 1920 to 1926 - 100 on debut vs England - WW1 Veteran (Middle East/Western Front-1915-18)

Collins also played first grade rugby league in the NSWRL Premiership He played at 5/8 in Eastern Suburbs First premiership win in 1911 playing alongside the great Dally Messenger.

Tri-Colours/Roosters won the final 22-9 against Glebe- As Glebe finished 1st in the regular season they were entitled to a re-match - Tri-Colours/Roosters won the re-match 11-8 for their first title and went onto win premierships again in 1912 and 1913.

Yes Hughes played sheffield shield cricket but not the last one to play state cricket though -someone else played state cricket and 1st grade league after him though - It was a jackpot question at a trivia night i used to attend - $1500 for the team - the first team said Hughes - second team said Langer as in Allan Langer then our turn,

                        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As no one guessed the last 1st grade RL player to play state cricket when still playing league - the answer is Andrew Johns -2 matches - i think it was the first T-20 comp which was state based back then- Lucky i remembered this for the Trivia Jackpot question - $1500

In June 2006, it was announced that Johns would play for the New South Wales, while still playing rugby league, for its T-20 series-2006/7. The announcement sparked much media interest and many critics and the public suspected a public relations stunt as his first match would be played in Johns' home town of Newcastle.

Despite this, Johns made his professional cricket début for NSW on 7 January 2007 against South Australia in front of a record crowd at Newcastle Number 1 Sports ground.

He had a missed opportunity to take a catch: a short-pitched delivery was pulled to the boundary but much to the dismay of the large Newcastle crowd, the catch was put down.

In his second match, against Tasmania at Stadium Australia in Sydney, Johns scored only nine runs and his cricket career was rather short-lived.

What’s this got to do with off season atrocities?

The club should make more of these achievements of past players especially as he was a member of the first premiership winning side - one of only 460 men who have played test cricket for Australia in 144 years - test cap 106- 1196 have played for the Tri-Colours/Roosters in 113 years
