Come on. It's going to be a great year! Rads is back and we are going to dominate. Lots of very good Juniors, its going to be a great year.

The senior boys have a Robbo camp coming up soon.
    That’s the spirit Mate.

If we just want to look at the positives then yes but for those that also look at the negatives its apparent their are some concerns. Like if Keary go's down long term, of course we have replacements but its a mighty task to come in & play number 7 with a rookie 5/8. Rads may take a whole season to get back to top form & you can have very good juniors but its a 50/50 whether they become top class players in the NRL but I hope your right.

I’m not as worried about goal kicking, it’s the general play and end of set kicks that are the challenge for our boots
        ..it’ll be interesting to see

I think 13s point is that if Keary goes down, we will have no experienced established player in the halves which personally is a very scary thought.

We should have taken Benji as a backup instead of that Warriors dude.

Keary and Lam aren't long yardage general field kickers of the ball and are more short yardage kickers- not sure about others in the mix - Walker and Keighran for instance and Smith as a smokey - Friendly may do more kicking from dummy half i suggest as i do recall him nailing a few 40-20's over the years.- Goal Kicking will need to be sorted to determine the main kicker and the backups.

Friend’s kicking out of dummy half whilst good at times can also be erratic. Knowing him he’ll step up to the plate when it matters the most.

Erratic is an understatement. I’ve cursed at the TV many a times watching his kicks.

Agree with this, but time will tell. I wish he didn't go to the Rabble. I would have sussed out Maloney - an ex Rooster and he would have slotted straight back in. Without knowing how Lam is progressing, SST could be our starter, with Keighran to feature as and when required, I suppose.
                    MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

                      - Of course if Keary gets injured we're in trouble. Just like any club is if they lose a key player. If Munster, Ponga, Cook, Cleary, Turbo, etc get injured all those clubs are stuffed. Benji can't defend, he would have been a step backwards. Hutchinson is decent back up, Lam will have a big year and Walker is the future.

                      - SST is a pretty good goal kicker. Relax

                      - Sometimes i think some Rooster fans only notice the bad things Friend does. Every kicker, even the really good ones, do bad kicks. You're just not analysing them as much.

                      - We have a great roster - The best player in the NRL, the Captain of NSW and Australia, Superstars in ever position, youth, experience, depth, young players who have yet to reach their potential, and some of the best young players yet to debut. If you're not happy with the roster that we've put together then you're impossible to please.

To me one of the most eye opening experiences was seeing Friend play against us in Origin. He absolutely put us to the sword...

Easts taught him to just stand up and play the ball no matter what, which rushes the opposition's defence coz they need to be ready (whereas they can re-organise while you're lying down trying to milk a penalty). I don't feel it as much when he's playing for us but oh boy, when he's against us... he creates a lot of panic in our defence.

I have heard from sources close to the team that James Tedesco will become our #1 goal kicker this year and has been practising like a LOT. He is kicking them well with Fitzy helping him fine tune his technique. Teddy will be the 80% success rate goal kicker we want. TKO will stay as back up.

                            Amen brother.

The other point about Keary is he is no more likely to "go down" than any other player. He should be fine.

Not like Boyd who has had issue upon issue, and should retire for his own good. (my opinion only, no offence sought).

I’m not sure that’s the case. I believe Lam has a big boot on him.

Listen to Talking with TK’s recent episode with Fitzy. He says SST is the lead goalkicker, and that it’s JT who coaches the kickers, not him.

He also pretty much admits that Lam will be number 7 and that they’re expecting a breakout year from him after his 3rd preseason; and it’s also implied that Walker won’t play much this year.
