I think the dilemma is whether a few of Verrills, Rads, Sitili, Lam, B Smith, Iku, Hutch or Butch raise the bar this year.
And we need one or two of Fifita, Keighran, Walker or Sualli to rise to prominence like the proverbial meteor.
If that happens, we are guaranteed of our 3rd premiership in 4 years.
If you went through the Roosters squad & said to yourself who has reached their maximum potential & who is yet to reach their maximum potential I believe it would look like this

1 Teddy reached max but has the potential to maintain it for another 2 or 3 years.
2 Toups reached max but has the potential to maintain it for another 1 or 2 years.
3 JMoz reached max & on the decline
4 Joey can still improve but is just about at max & not sure if he will maintain it or not.
5 BMoz reached max & on the decline
6 Lammy on the rise max is yet to come
7 Keary reached max but has the potential to maintain it for another 1 or 2 years if he doesnt suffer another bad head knock otherwise retired.
8 JWH reached max but has the potential to maintain it for another 1 year I hope.
9 Jake reached max but has the potential to maintain it for another 1 year.
10 SST reached max but has the potential to maintain it for another 2 years.
      11 Cords reached max
12 Angus can still improve & will reach max soon & play at that level for another 5 years.
13 Rads can still improve & will reach max soon & play at that level for another 8 years.

14 SV much more improvement to come 3 or 4 years off max
15 Sitilli much more improvement to come 3 or 4 years off max
16 Collins can still improve 1 or 2 years off max then another 5 or 6 years years at max
17 Iceman reached max but has the potential to maintain it for another 1 or 2 years.
18 Butch I think he has reached his max but now that he is married Im not sure if he will maintain it or become a minister of the church.
19 Keighan big question mark, could be the signing of the season or could disappear off the face of the planet in 12 months.
20 Ikavalu reached max & can be lethal on his day but his day but is only for back up.
21 Hutch reached max & what you see is what you get.
      22 Lussick
      23 Suluka- Fifita
      24 Billy Smith
      25 Walker
      26 Suaalii
      27 E Butcher
      28 F Baker
22 to 28 are unknown, all very promising but who knows how they will develop.

SST is the starting kicker. Teddy and Lam backup.

I'd love nothing more than to be proved wrong, but this year bodes poorly for JWH, Friend and Cordner.

All 3 are past their peak - of that there is no doubt, if we look at the situation objectively. The new way the game is officiated + age will make Friend and JWH quite a bit less effective than in the past.

JWH is locked in and signed for the next two years, but I highly suspect 2021 could be the last year we see Friend (England, or another NRL club) & Cordner (retirement) in the tri-colours.

If the likes of Verrills, Lussick, Fifita, Butcher really kick on in ability and performance, i'd say it'll be a lock.

Not concerned about the Morris boys situation, as Billy Smith and Suaali are posied to enter the backline long term.

Ikuvalu, Hutch are barely first grade quality.

Some will see this as a big call, but I think we've seen the best of Sitili. I'm not convinced he'll get any better than what he is. Depends on whether Robbo is happy with that ceiling, or not.

I reckon Friend has lotsa improvement left in him and he showed that during Origin. Regular Origin experience will do him wonders.

Cords had a year from hell. Absolute year from hell... he'll move foward.

The following players can and will improve:
                - Teddy, Toops, Manu, Smith, Suaalii, Lam, Walker, Keary, Collins, Friend, SST, Butch, Radley, Sitili, Fifita

JWH, Cords and Liu might be at their peak? Their peak is pretty frigging good though, so their improvements will simply be more nuanced (e.g. adapting to rule changes).

You will never see Friend at another NRL club.

I think it's bizarre not having a recognised goal kicker. I think it's a big problem.

SST will miss a chunk of the season while he recovers from his ACL.

Billy Smith can kick but isn't guaranteed to be in the starting line up. Sam Walker is in the same boat.

                    Is James Maloney still playing?

It is odd, but how many teams have a genuine goal kicker?

Was SST an ACL though ? He is in the training pics.

Without a top kicker and half, I think we’ll struggle a lot.

Imagine if Keary goes down. We would have either a fringe first grader or a rookie running the team. That’s a scary thought.

Maybe we should have taken Benji for the small amount he was supposedly after.

I don't think this was such a bad idea. His defence is woeful but he could have filled in and steered the team around when needed.

I guess there is a reason why they are trying to fast track Suaalii.

Taukeiaho had a MCL he has fully recovered.
If Keary goes down we have replacements.

Come on. It's going to be a great year! Rads is back and we are going to dominate. Lots of very good Juniors, its going to be a great year.

The senior boys have a Robbo camp coming up soon.
