Yep the Roosters get all the favours.

I think Keighran is a big chance to start round one as utility on the bench with cordner out and verrills not guaranteed to be at full health by then.

On that recent podcast fitzy said that he has been training for a Aubo type role.

I have said it before and will say it again. Boyd needs to seriously consider his future in playing the game. This was going to have to be faced soon anyway, but has now been expedited by the latest Origin incident and setback.

His longevity, and personal health and safety, are paramount. I am not a medical expert by any means but, as far as I can tell at least, the writing looks to be on the wall. He can hold his head up high as being a very good club stalwart that we can all be so very proud of.
        MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

Maybe if you say it just one more time he will do it?

what do you think he has been doing? Of course he has been seriously considering his playing future in the game and of course he would be getting plenty of expert medical and football support in helping him in that decision.

Souffs leading an inquiry for the NRL to make the Roosters release a detailed public explanation of the situation - because they did when they copped heat about burgess and Inglis:

It sounds a very odd to me. With so much time off already, why does Cords need another 12 weeks? If he’s that badly injured then he should retire. Keary has had a few knocks too but isn’t having all that time off. I think he should retire.

Again, there is a precedent for such a long break. Sydney Crosby took a year off in the NHL years ago after multiple severe concussions and has been fine since.

The major problem the NRL have is that the number of concussions in the game appears to be skyrocketing. And the new high speed touch footy rules haven't helped.

The Cordner situation will become the norm and they'll likely have to review the new tap and go rules which have increased fatigue and led to more poor tackle attempts/ill prepared collisions.

Just on Cords, his major issue is that he should NEVER had played Origin. Freddy let him down big time. That may well have been one concussion too many where as he should have been at the start of a nice 6-9 month break from footy.

when you say Freddy let him down, who deemed Cordner fit for origin? Boyd himself? Our club doctors? NSW doctors?

Is the money in origin too good for players to not rule themselves out? If there was no money involved, I think a lot of players would think twice about taking a risk or a injury into origin.

Do we think the Roosters might entice SBW back for 12 months with the salary cap compensation of $350k? The player has to be of the same position as the money cant be used to top up other players contracts.

we've got a history of being over-cautious with head knocks so i wouldn't be retiring cords just yet. i mean - i don't know, but hopefully he'll come back firing. if he does, come finals time it'll work well. the guy plays so tough half seasons are probably enough for him.

I was thinking maybe we could get Sammy Boy out of medical retirement & get him to don on the red white & blue.
