I got canned for taking a porno mag to school. I feel victimised that my love for the female form wasn't respected and appreciated.
Also after School we would go down to the Newsagent when the new Playboy/Penthouse would come out (monthly i think). We would take turns in distracting the person at the counter as they sold lollies/ice creams and what not.
Someone would take a paper/rugby league week and go to where these magazines were (Usually at the back of the store) - put these in the middle and make it look like were were reading the paper /RLW instead of looking at the Pics of the Women models. The Newsagent must have known what was going on though

A mate of mine was canned 12 cuts on each hand in High School one time- he must have moved his hands or something as he was canned on the knuckles a few times which swelled up - at Home that night his Dad asked what happened to your knuckles so he told him.
A few days later in Math's class where the Teacher was this Math's Master and main caner his Dad appeared at the door wanting to speak to this Teacher - after class - No now as i have to leave for interstate ( his Dad was an interstate Truckie /stocky and proper handy with the fists/amateur boxer) - His Dad said you don't cane my son etc etc and grabbed his tie and with one punch knocked this teacher out and then lowered him to the ground and left.
Someone went up to the Admin office to get one of the Admin staff and by the time they arrived he had come around - nothing happened though which was strange - This Math's teacher had a huge collection of canes and enjoyed using them I recall.
One time when finishing off my Sunny Boy in class after lunch - the teacher saw me and told me to put it in the bin - when i am finished as it's a waste of good food - flew of the handle and another note - 12 cuts of the cane on both hands and 1 month play ground detention the note read as i made my way to the admin building - handed it in and declined to stay - Mum - nothing things they would want to cane you for
I recall there were Cola ones? supposedly still make Sunnyboys

As I say, it comes down to whether you believe being gay is a conscious, amoral choice, vs an out-of-the-individual's-hands issue.
Nice – I was waiting for that comment from someone.
Absolutely, I agree that there has to be a balance between an individual's moral culpability and his uncontrollable urges.
But we're talking about young people here though. 10 year olds, 15 year olds, that sort of thing. Kids growing up feeling like shit, believing they are immoral freaks and being bullied daily – often bashed – without having any control over the issue they're being bullied about. Those other issues (alchoholism, cigarettes, gambling) are not relevant in this context.
I'd say that once we eradicate the marginalisation of gay people to the point that queer kids feel safe and happy that we should then tackle the scourge that is denigrating that gravely marginalised group, gamblers and drinkers.FVCK CANCER

How long ago did you go to school? 6 whacks with the cane on each hand was actually the max by law. I caught the cane once and yanked it off the teacher and threw it towards the bin. I got told to close my eyes for the reminder

I remember another incident i think it was the GF replay that last year of School for me -1978- Manly and Sharks - a kid in the class had a radio and was listening to it softy - the teacher caught him and took the radio off him and as the teacher was walking away the kid got up rushed at the teacher and crash tackled him from behind causing some broken bones for the teacher - strangely enough that kid didn't come back to our school.
The Music teacher allowed us to bring in records to play except when i brought mine in he wouldn't allow them to be played - Never Mind the Bollocks/ The Clash First record/ Ramones record and i think a Buzzcocks record or EP ?/ The Jam- Oh none of that - it was ABBA/Sherbert and bubble gum stuff like that.
Some of my older Brothers and Sisters would purchase English Music mags such as New Musical Express/Melody Maker so that's how i found about this new music they called "Punk Rock" - Old Mollie refused to play it on Countdown but he did interview Steve Jones and Paul Cook from the Sex Pistols though.Last edited by King Salvo; 02-05-2021, 07:49 PM.

Lovely to see the tolerance of “different opinions and beliefs” on this thread (sic). Before I start my rant I’d like to stress I think Folau is a grade A knob....none the less, he DOES have a right to his opinion as does everyone.
It’s no more hateful than some of the vile abuse I’ve heard coming from the left wing alphabet squad toward straight people. (Which I happen to find quite offensive)
If we are going to be totally objective and inclusive in this PC society - “love is love” after all- then what about the rights of those want to marry their pets or pedos or every other freakazoid with a penchant for a “different” kind of love??? So now the gay “community” are deciding what’s right and what’s not? Looks to me like are THEY are being the bigoted, judgemental pricks when it comes to someone who disagrees with their agenda!
So let me get this straight (pardon the pun) it’s ok for one group to voice their opinion, but not another....
Speaking of payne haas’ perfect religion...how many gays have been put to death by this mob? yet the alphabet squad won’t say a word against islam because it doesn’t suit their victim agenda- yep, not even to stick up for their
murdered gay bros and sisses in moslem lands.
So who is setting the moral compass nowadays, and is it any more or less offensive than anyone else’s ?
‘Thought this was a footy site to discuss our beloved Chooks ....and here I find myself triggered to the point of ranting by blatant double standards and hypocrisy!!
End of rant..
Go the mighty Chookies

As a result of everything I have read, learned and experienced as a mental health worker, I long ago concluded that homosexuality is not a matter of choice. Instead, it seems quite clear to me that there is a combination of genetic and biological factors that cause people to become gay. Choice and willfulness have nothing to do with who does and does not become homosexual. Those who are gay have no more choice over their sexual preferences than those who are heterosexual.

KS...This is not a peer reviewed paper and doesn’t reference any of the “evidence” quoted within...ergo, just an opinion piece.
No one is born gay, it is a taught or learnt behaviour.
From my years of study in uni (I have searched extensively for one shred of clinical evidence to suggest homosexuality is biologically inherent or familial), - to no avail, because no such evidence exists.
Homosexuality is very much “a matter of CHOICE”.
My gay colleagues will attest to this.Last edited by Timmah; 02-07-2021, 09:54 AM.
