It's also a massive bonus for your coach to know what he's on about. TRobbo has a degree in Sports Science and as a former player knows only too well the balance between mind and body.

Massive belief, respect and buy-in from his players!

        100%.
we live in an age of disposable this and that but good to know our club does everything to stand by a bloke who has given his all for the club.
also great to hear that the medical reports are encouraging.
good luck boyd - you're not walking alone on this.

It would be amazing if all the one-eyed fans could perhaps just for once open the other one and and see that is possibly the way they need to be treating their players in the future. It is a big-boys sport and their will always be collisions and concussions, but I am really proud our club has stood up and tried to do the right thing long-term for the individual players; even if that means our teams loses games in the mean time. I am sure the wives and kids will appreciate this in 20year time.

Great news that no negative long term effects have been found after all the tests, this club makes us all proud in the way they look after our players welfare, step in and then go the extra miles to organise all these appointments with the absolute best medico’s the country has to offer, this organisation is so much more then just a sporting franchise well done Sydney Roosters and good-luck Boyd hopefully we see you back on the field sooner rather then later.

whatever happens he will go down as one of the most courageous players the game has seen. If he does come back maybe he will be better than ever, might even get an offload. He has done enough to be classed as a Roosters Legend already, but if he recovers and plays another 3 or 4 years it will only enhance his status. Please no more rep footy though, the guy really needs to be protected from himself, he has too much courage for his own good, he would obviously run through brick walls for his club, state and country. I sincerely wish Boyd every best wish for his future.

Brilliant read, and shows the level of professionalism and expertise within our great club, led by our very own supercoach.

I just hope that it's all worth it in the end.

Thats great news on the MRI results. It will give him a lot of confidence if he plays on. Really well done to the club too.

Well done to the club and Robbo for sorting this out in a professional way. I hope Cordner returns and plays better than ever.

I would do a Frankenstein .Take his brain out and swap for another ...then again I do not know if the NRL allow studs on his neck.

I was wondering when the 1st 8 week block started - it says 3 x 8 week blocks which is 24 weeks - 6 months roughly and possibly longer if not progressing though the stages.-

A plan divided into three eight-week blocs will see Cordner focus on recovery and re-strengthening for the first part.

For the second stage, Cordner will ramp up his running, speed and agility work, with a jiu-jitsu component also included.

The third stage will see Cordner take on regular training for eight weeks before the club and medical experts make a decision about a possible return. It's understood an independent evaluation by the NRL will also be undertaken.

"But there's no fixed date we are looking at," Robinson said.

"He needs to be progressing through each stage at the right time. If things don't go as planned, then we will re-think."

Get Boyd to read about what CTE did to the brains of NFL players as that should dictate his decision. The long term effects of repeated concussions cannot be understated.

                          Chook.

True, but I've never heard of anyone on growth hormones or steroids trying to super glue their teeth back in ala Mike Webster? CTE cannot yet be detected without brain tissue being analysed under a micrscope so no MRI is going to show if Boyd has it or the extent of it. I don't want to see him at 45 sitting a chair being spoon feed by a machine.

                              Chook.
