Not sure about that....I'd rate him the best centre in the game at present.

We are lucky to have guys like Smith and Suualii poised to step in.

fuk Stagg, the guy is the worst player in a terrible side.
Doesn't even know that tackling is part of the game, let alone be able to do it
Most overrated player in the game at the moment and def not a fit for our club

He isn’t off contract till the end of 2022? In today’s day and age he might as well be off contract now because it means sweet fk all.

Well Manu didn’t realise tackling was apart of the game for a while either. Trent will fix him like he did with Manu

              Love this bloke .
              I hope we can prevail.
If the boy is home sick and that would be the only reason he leaves.
Signing Chrighton from Penriff and Staggs would be on the cards.
              Chrighton in a heartbeat!

                i agree mostly,

he is frustrating to watch because he should be touching the ball more, plenty say he hasn’t got enough quality ball, and that’s a fair point, but in some games he has gone searching for the ball, and looked unstoppable, he should do that more.

his defence doesn’t fill me with any confidence either.

if warriors offer him a good chunk more, he should take it.

Maybe it will come down to whether Joey want to keep winning in a team that has the possibility of winning premierships each year and take less money or take more money and play in a team where there will be a great deal of disappointment year after year.
He has been on decent money for a while now and I’d hope he’s invested wisely so that money isn’t the major factor. But who knows? What we do know is that he’s playing for us this year and signed for next year. We can only hope he loves the club enough to stay. Time will tell.

I mean hopefully one thing that works in our favour here is that Joey's younger brother Kani is also in our system playing for the SG ball side and might want to stay to try and crack our first grade team one day... who knows. Just clutching at straws here lol - farken love Joey and what he has done for our club, games best centre and a quality person. If he were to go to the Warriors, I'd still cheer for him and not blame him at all for wanting to return home. At the end of the day he has played a big role in delivering us 2 premierships.

I doubt it, at least Manu knew what a tackle was.
Also Mt Jaf, it matters not how good his goal kicking is if he gives up tries

By signing his most recent contract with us, it shows that money isn’t too strong a motivator for Joey. He could have got more by leaving.

And why do so many of you assume he is homesick?? Just because someone lives in another country away from friends and family doesn’t mean they are homesick.

Im pretty sure he has been at the Roosters since he was 16....i doubt he would be homesick & if he leaves i hope he doesn't use it as an excuse. When RTS left it was for the money & thats fair enough. We never thought he could have been replaced after 3 years by someone better but it happened.

I actually think Manu excelled at fullback for the Roosters when filling in...and part of the reason was he was getting the ball in his hands a lot more in open field and he didn't have the defensive pressures of playing centre where he does have lapses.

I know RTS won a Dally M but that happens when your a top shelf player with hacks as team mates, and i would say his form has mostly been excellent at the Warriors but i got to ask you all....did RTS game actually improve after leaving The Roosters or was he playing at the same high standard he was when he left? I really think his game didn't get to that next level where he would be remembered as something really special

yeah, maybe we don't win 2 comps if rts stayed. he made his choice and maybe he's happy with it.

one thing about losing joey is that we're probably going to be losing the moz bros as well, so that's a big changeover for one year. we'd lose 3/4s of our 3/4s. we've definitely got guys who can step up but i hope joey stays.

True but he was a few years ago .He may have grown past that .
