Roosters February 20th trial against the Tigers will be livestreamed on NRL.com
We were originally playing Manly in a trial this year but seeing we are playing Manly in the first round this year they changed the trial game to play Canberra.
Are there age restrictions on playing NRL trials? Not sure if Suaalii has received the all clear to play early yet - i'm sure they'll make a big show and dance about it. Otherwise would he be forced to trial in 'lower grade' game?
On the same note can anyone confirm that you are able to play NSW Cup before turning 18? Fingers crossed for that at least this year.
Roosters v raiders trial now moved to seiffert oval, no fans at the moment and may only be members if they do open it up.
ism22 I’m sure you can find a way in for us.
Quite annoying, i was so looking forward to going to Leichhardt Oval ( if fans were let in ). Originally we were playing Manly in the trial and Tigers were playing Canberra but seeing we were playing Manly in the first round and Tigers playing Canberra also in the first round, they swapped around the teams playing in the trial.
Wonder what Seiffert Oval is like these days, last time i was there was in 1987.
The Chooks first trial against the Centrelink Expresso's is at Kirkham Oval Elderslie - We used to play at Onslow Park Camden when playing against the Camden Rams for the mighty East Campbelltown Eagles in my day in Group 6. - Used to be a strange game as Camden wore the Chooks kit of the time and we the St George one
They spent a few bob on upgrading Kirkham Oval and facilities - i think 5000 capacity - be less for the trial if crowds allowed?

It's advertised as an opposed session so not a full on trial i suppose that means - mmm what is an opposed session?
yep, seeing walker and suaali will give us an idea about how close they are
Not really as it's advertised as an opposed session and not an official NRL trial - this if from the local paper - Macarthur Advertiser
While not an 'official' NRL trial match - the club's first will be against the Manly-Waringah Sea Eagles the next weekend - the 'opposed session' is important for Wests Tigers preparations as it will enable many young up-and-comers to earn some game time.
The only thing i could find on the net in relation to opposed training sessions is for Football (Soccer) - it will be 13 on 13 and i suppose players being held in "tackles"
Opposed soccer training is where you have pressure from an opponent during your training. This forces players to think, react and make correct decisions and in many cases also helps with moving on and off the ball

Sounds like basically what they do in training drills.

One question though...why?
When playing juniors we had parents as the "opposition" during our training sessions - not sure of the value of them though as players get enough practice in opposed situations during a match one would say - more likely to have players injured as they wont be 100% committed in anything they do and they may try to do things they are not supposed too or unable to do during these "opposed" sessions.
Robbo would more than likely have his 21 players penciled in for round 1 if not the 17 depending on the full trial against Canberra - so i suggest the squad for this opposed session vs Wests Tigers will made up of some of or all of the 6 not in the 21 (Cords of course not playing) and Jersey Flegg Cup players.
Some pics starting to trickle in from the Roosters training camp up here in northern NSW. Sualli looks freakin huge. Hopefully they can get that exemption to have the choice to play him.
Get him up to NRL speed sooner than later.
Our young crop of the squad look good. I'm not getting carried away this year, but am looking forward to them stepping up and others getting blooded here and there.
Wonder how lam is feeling it? Biggest ask of any player this year.
