He's got a bit of all those great Queensland halves to his game.....you can see the Cronk, the DCE......even that runt Alfie Langer with the in and away darts, potential superstar and he's going to be near impossible to keep at our club if the second Brisbane team comes in.
Played great but let’s remember he wasn’t out there while the Raiders had their best side on. Wasn’t up against Wighton, Hodgson, Papalii, Tapine, etc. Worth noting Lam looked very threatening as well against those second tier guys. Walker’s hands looked great and he does have great instinct but you’d think Robbo will watch his defence closely in reggies before he has a run in first grade. But it will come and he’ll kill it, soon enough.
Have to put it into context that it was a trial game though and Raiders had some of their better players off for the second half .
He will need a lot more development and game time in Canterbury Cup to be anywhere near ready for NRL - Has to hone his craft as they say.
Did anyone think the players looked slimmer than usual - The new rules and the increase time of the footy being in play will mean players have to more agile and leaner to cope with the increased speed of the game.
I think any combo of Keary, Lam or Walker in the halves is going to look good. (No disrespect Hutch).
My preference would be for Sam get some more runs on the board with the Bears until at least Origin time. He is still young and inexperienced so patience will be rewarded. Don't think confidence will be an issue.

Agreed. We only won because Wighton, Hodgson and Papalii were rested.
He's definitely close to 1st grade standard and impressed everybody but this was a trial...
