I didnt actually keep a count but I would say no more than 10 times in 8 years.
I have paid back my family in so many ways like not taking heroin for nearly 30 years, getting married, having 2 beaut kids, going off & getting a degree & getting on with life. The bit of cash I stole has been paid back 10 fold & those who know me know that I will always feel a little shame even 30 years on for my past but getting on with my life & living a honest, ethical, loving life is more than enough for those that I mean something too.

not having a go at you but in my experience junkies who stop using tend to be esp honest. they need to be honest to pull through. it's the only way it can work

In a lot of cultures there are initiation rites for young men. Many of these rites involve pain. Lots of it. These young men, keen to test themselves, readily sign up for it. They welcome the pain. Welcome the challenge. They want to know if they are ready to be men. It's good for them.

Sadly, in our culture, there are no such initiation rites. So our young men invent ways of testing themselves. They drive their cars dangerously. They skylark from balconies and clifftops. They overindulge in drugs and alcohol. They want to test themselves. They want to know if they can take it. If they are men.

thats an interesting point TVG. I remember hearing someone speaking about initiation rights and the effects its having on communities by it being outlawed. There is a belief that without a transition into manhood it has very much a negative effect on communities and the breakdown of respect.

Anyway I don't have a huge opinion on the age thing, but I don't think he is ready anyway so I think its irrelevant

Really think that's a low blow , I don't know Mickie or yourself but surely if he cleaned himself up for 30 years ,raised a family and atoned with his loved ones then his past should be left there.,in the past The other part is unless his actions effected you directly then it's about as much of your business as it is mine .None
