  • “60-8” T-Shirts for Round 3

I read stuff like this and again, it’s so clear to see the levels between some clown like Crowe and someone so professional like Politis. At the end of the day, it might be a smart bit of marketing, and I’m more excited to see us live beating them in front of their toothless fans, but it’s just some more immaturity from a silly jealous man.

    From FoxSports this morning:

Rusty’s $20 plot to twist the knife in bitter Roosters rivalry - and it’ll leave Nick Politis ‘fuming’

Year after year, the bad blood between South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Sydney Roosters continues to grow.

New chapters are being written in the famous Book of Feuds between the two oldest clubs in the Australian game.

Whether it’s Angus Crichton’s move across Anzac Parade or Joseph Suaalii’s defection to the Chooks late last year, a fresh tale in the rivalry is always ready to be written.

Last year Souths wiped the floor with the Chooks on the eve of the finals series.

The Rabbitohs spanked the Roosters 60-8 at ANZ Stadium with Alex Johnston scoring five tries.

And as the rivalry shows no sign of slowing down, Souths owner Russell Crowe has a novel plan to remind the Roosters of the Rabbitohs’ dominance in last year’s fixture.

Crowe was back at Redfern Oval on Monday as Souths get ready to face the Storm in Thursday’s season opener in Melbourne.

It involves cheap T-shirts and is sure to leave Roosters owner Nick Politis “fuming”.

Speaking on the Big Sports Breakfast, Nine reporter Danny Weidler said: “He has got a very interesting plan coming up for Round 3 when the Rabbitohs play the Roosters.

“He’s behind a marketing idea to put out T-shirts with the 60-8 scoreline when Souths beat the Roosters last year.

“He wants to sell those and the club are going to get right behind him.

“I reckon Nick Politis and the Roosters will be fuming about all of this.

“If you want a good build-up to a game, it’s going to centre around the Roosters and the Rabbitohs coming up very soon. Those T-shirts, I reckon they’ll be selling like hotcakes.”

God that's cringe. Jealousy is a cruel thing. How about he focuses on getting his club to a grand final, not losing a prelim three years straight - mind you 2 of them to us lol. Fark imagine all these centrelink bludgers wearing a 60-8 shirt and losing the game how good would that be. Living in the past as usual for their deluded fanbase

Hope they go ahead, that would fire our guys up
There's a reason why the young and idealistic become the old and cynical.
        It's called experience.

Another shirt idea would be 62-0 from 1996 25th anniversary this year.

I think it's amusing that they really think that a t-shirt is going to upset us. How old exactly is Russell? 17? 18? Or is that just his maturity level?

bit of a chuckle and does build on the 'rivalry' for the broadcasters, which they will love but it does show how childish he is.

something didn't go his way recently with suaalii so he's having a little temper tantrum. not the best way to run an organization or gain respect from other clubs equivalents.

FFS Uncle Nick would just role his eyes and smile that they have this FDC as their owner.

I’m with Uncle Nick on this one ‘rolls eyes’. Imagine the pain they went through whilst we held the competition hostage for 2 years, B2B is the greatest achievement of the modern era I’ll take another 60-8 if it means we win the comp again.

Actually if all the Roosters supporters wore their B2B t-shirts it would put Rusty and all the toothless LOL@Souffs supporters back under their rocks.

'we play for premierships; they play for victories in meaningless games'.
