I almost had that team, I said Collins would be in the run on side by rd 5 but Robbo feels he’s ready which is cool by me but I bet he swaps them come run on time. I wasn’t sure about if Keighran would make the 17 or if they would go with Lussick but Keighran gets first crack, I must admit I haven’t seen him play before so I’m looking forward to seeing how he go’s.
Like jizz said the Roosters look better on paper but they also have a bit of a history of losing in rd 1.
Im tipping them to win so I hope they turn up & get the job done.

Manly will be hard to beat for sure so the Chooks need to be ready from the get go - Early wins are paramount to kick start the season

I wouldn't read too much into our recent game 1 record...oftentimes we are coming off a WCC campaign and aren't as fresh and ready as our competitors.

I think we will be better out of the blocks this year. Robbo knows we dont want to be in a 0 from 2 situation like last year. Hopefully we will go into the round 3 clash undefeated.

looking at that manly team we should specials .

lindsay has not overtaken jwh by any stretch.

we may lose, were the roosters and its round 1 , so well lose by 8.

trot out the same 2 sides rnd 23 well win by 50 .

We’ve had our first full preseason for 3 years. I’m quietly confident about this one.

JWH will play less minutes ( yes less than 40 ) this year. If Collins hasn’t overtaken him then the pace of the game has. Love JWH but of all our players he is the least likely to adapt to additional rule changes as evident last season.

I’m up here in Iluka at the moment so I will be watching the game at Sedgers Reef Hotel with not many if any Roosters supporters. I’ll be wearing my Roosters shirt & cap coping heaps of sledgers at Sedgers. They’d better bloody win.
The Storm v Souths game has me interested
The Storm have never lost a Rd1 game in 18 years whilst Bellamy & C Smith have been involved
Souths have never beaten the Storm in Melbourne.
Is this the game that the records are broken?
If I was a betting man I would put a lobster on Souths for the win surely the luck has to change?

You will find some Roosters across the river at the Pacific Hotel in Yamba Mick but I got admit that Sedgers looks like it will be interesting ..... there will be a random bloke in a South’s jersey there for sure during that game!

I think the side reflects the best we have available. The most contentious spot for me is the Kerighan one. I think Nat Butcher is an underrated player. Robbo is a coaching guru and he consistently plays him.

If not Kerighan than who - Lussick? We haven’t seen him yet however presuming he has the game - he kick goals could cover at 9 6 7 3 4 13 I think which makes him a far better interchange utility than Lussick - whom I rate but I think Kerighan fits the utility role far more completely.

                          The new “hitman” Flannery?

Underrated because he does not show any talent when he plays He may be the nicest of guys at the Roosters, but shows nothing when he comes on except miss a couple of important tackles .
Sorry but I cannot understand how he gets picked all the time.
Hope I have to eat my words and he has a blinder

I've noticed a lot of negative comments towards Butcher. I agree with you that he is very underrated. I think he goes well.

He was impressive in his first run against Canberra. Only got pushed back 10 metres. He’s easy picking for the opposition. They wouldn’t fear him in the WNRL.
