Congratulations to former Rooster Shaun Kenny-Dowall (#1069) on his appointment as Hull KR captain for their upcoming Super League season.

Was rocks and diamonds but was one of my favourites and a true Rooster.

    Congrats!!!
Looks like Ryan Hall and SKD winger/centre pairing as well.

didn't see that one coming but he'll always be a roosters legend for great service and winning a gf with a broken jaw

        Couldn't be happier for him.

A top bloke with a heart of gold whose only fault was his weakness for being led astray. He must have outgrown that to be appointed captain.

One of my all time favorite Roosters! Good luck to him in his new role.

Agreed, he's career was basically derailed by:
                - Dating the wrong person (a violent druggie who made false claims against him)
                - Trying to help an absolute grub get on the clean (who then dropped drugs on him and said 'cya!!!' as soon as he got a chance)

IMO that kinda stuff grows you. I reckon he'll be a great leader over there. Good to see he's not gonna retire broke & damaged after all this.

                  All the best SKD.

Who will ever forget his heroics in the 2013 GF? The match winning try and playing for over 70 minutes with a broken jaw. Press never mentions it, but us Easts fans know, love and will forever be thankful to him.

An Easts legend as far as I'm concerned.

First thread I've ever gone through and hit the 'like' button on every post in it.

I have nothing to add really as everyone so far has articulated my own thoughts perfectly.

you could put that segment on repeat and I would just keep watching it, best game I have ever watched live, including grand finals. Although the winning try v raiders Is probably the greatest moment, for me the tigers game overall was the best.

The fact that I am in the front row of that footage has nothing to do with the amount of views that video has had over the last 10 years...

Great to rewatch. Benji and Pearce throwing wild ones.

Still thought SKD would drop the ball for the winner. Why couldn’t he just tuck it tightly under a wing and fall over? It’s like he’s slam dunking the ball.

Countered by his shocker in the first minute of the 2015 prelim against the Broncos. Rocks and diamonds was never more appropriate.

I was just reminiscing this morning with a mate who's Tigers supporter about how disappointing it was for his crowd to boo Teddy in his first game at Easts (which was Round 1 away vs his old team)..

In contrast I remember SKD's first try against us playing for Easts B and how the Chookpen cheered him,

Big difference though, SKD went through some heavy shit when leaving us, so all of us felt sorry for him and wished him the best of luck that he deserved, where as Tedesco was the hopes and dreams of that tigers team, and it would of hurt them leaving them with nothing.

imagine if mini at his prime moved on to Souths, rd 1, the pen would have been booing for sure.
