Maybe, but I'm going with a gut feeling that he just ain't up to it.
I'm not basing this on one game, but I was very surprised at his lack of pace on top of my previous opinion about his footballing instincts.
Walker seems to have it all over him in that department.
I loved last nights result, but I want us to win the comp again, and cant see that happening with Lam in such an important role.

I hope some see the latter sentence as being the opposite to being a 5th columnist.
I don't even know what 5thbcolumnist means Lol .I see what everyone else has seen in walker and as much as he is certainly an talent until he has played against men then I will reserve my judgement on him .Just think if you look back on Thurston , Filter ,.Keary , and many other halves many people thought they wouldn't make it to.Thurston being a prime example

I agree bout Lam. He's been having chances since 2019 I think and still doesn't show enough. Even Butcher is more interesting to watch than Lam. By the business end and hopefully all players available, I don't think Lam will be even considered to be a reserve.

We all want whats best for the team as a whole.
            We need depth, hence Lam.

I hoped by starting this thread that someone would tell me why they rate him, but I guess we will both be waiting for that.

Not likely - not sure if you watched the game that closely - Keary is running the show and playing a roving role in attack - left and right side - there is no right or left side halves anymore. As for Lack of pace Lam was chased down by a winger - you know the ones that are some or the fastest players in any team.

Just be honest you don't like him and or rate him and more than likely are a member of the group who think he only has a contract at the Chooks because of his Dad.

I can't see Robbo thankfully ever logging on here and changing the team because a group of 5th C's want xyz to be in the team though - just all hot air and rather daft views - remember though that if you start listening to the "fans" you end up sitting with them.

Will be interesting to see how everyone plays when Radley is fit and playing longer minutes, everything was looking rosy last year until Vic went down, if there are no more injuries, I’d be happy to go with the current team with Vic back.

all those bagging him, how do you know that the game plan, ie what Trent asked him to do, was not what he did?
He played a simple game, tackle, distribute, kick, don't overplay your hand, let our awesome outside backs do what they do best.
I think the comments are a bit harsh, he was as equal to how Flanagan played, if not better in defense and a better kicking game.
Cut the kid some slack for a few weeks to see how he works into the position.

You speak too much sense for some on here but I enjoyed reading your fair and balanced post.

A fifth column is any group of people who undermine a larger group from within, usually in favor of an enemy group or nation. ... Clandestine fifth column activities can involve acts of sabotage, disinformation, or espionage executed within defense lines by secret sympathizers with an external force.

If speed is what someone here think Lam lacks I'm an old bloke who remembers a really slow old 5/8 running around a few years ago, his nickname is the king , look up Mr Wally Lewis , he was a slug , I could have run him down and I'm slower than Cords , but the old Wally seemed to make a fair career of it despite his snail like pace .Give Lam a bit of time and I reckon you may be surprised

Of course the comments are harsh especially since the Chooks won by 40 & Lam had to move positions.
Lam will be there next week & the week after unless he gets injured.

The problem is that apart from being slow, I don’t see any other similarities between Lam and Wally.
